[USB Drivers] Unrecognized device Solved

Voila j'ai un probleme de prises USB en facades qui ne fonctionnent plus. Quand je branche n'importe quel appareil mon Win XP SP2 affiche la petite bulle en bas a droit "périphérique USB non reconnu". Apparement ce serait un probleme de pilotes.

resumé des faits : suite à une mauvaise manip, j'ai du emmener mon PC chez un reparateur pour qu'il me change ma carte mere et le processeur. Il a réinstallé un Windows XP SP2. J'ai fait des recherches et apparement les pilotes USB sont inclus dans le SP2. Or sur mon ordi il n'y en a pas. J'ai donc voulu desinstaller le SP2 pour pouvoir telecherger chez microsoft les pilotes USB pour SP1 mais l'installation s'est faite directement au niveau SP2. impossible donc de revenir au SP1.

Je precise que mes USB de derriere l'UC fonctionnent et que j'ai mis a jour les pilotes de ma carte mère.

Hello,

I think I have the solution to this USB not recognized issue.

Follow these steps:
1) Shut down your PC normally
2) Unplug the PC's power supply
3) Keep pressing the power button on the PC for about 1 minute
4) Power your PC back on

Normally, when Windows restarts, the issue should be gone.

I tested it on my PC and after applying this method, USB key, USB HUB, and PDA connections work OK.

The explanation is as follows: by holding the button for the duration, it helps dissipate residual static electricity from the motherboard.

Hello,  Have you checked whether your repair technician simply forgot to plug the USB ports on the front panel into the motherboard?  ... unless the new motherboard isn’t designed for that.  Bye.

I didn't check visually, since Windows reacts when I plug in a device, it means the ports are properly connected!
And the motherboard is designed for 4 USB ports behind the PC, 4 on the front, I have 2.

Nowhere in the Device Manager do I have any dysfunction.

Oh and another thing, I have two audio outputs, but only one works, but I haven't looked into it too much yet.

No, I haven't done it yet, but I have the impression I already know the answer: "ah it's very simple, bring him to me, according to my diagnosis, we need to reinstall Windows!"

hi

it may be that the little jumper on the motherboard sending the USBs to the front is not connected.
look in the manual for your motherboard to move the front USB jumpers on the facade
also in the bios in a section at the USB level there should be a place where the front USBs are disabled; you need to set them to enable

Hello everyone
I have a problem since I tried to install XP in parallel with Vista I have a few issues with my USB port. Indeed my laptop has 3 USB ports and none of them recognize my external hard drive that I used to use. What should I do because even though I download drivers for the external HDD or download a Vista bug fix (k140... etc) nothing works, still no possibility to use the USB ports

Normally, the solution works on a fixed PC Mac or Windows. For laptops, I’m not sure it will work.

If your issue comes from a single peripheral, namely your controller, check the controller installation, the drivers, check if it is compatible with Vista.

Go fishing for information on the controller manufacturer's site; there are often very interesting FAQs.

I still have my problem, my controller isn’t recognized, it shows as an unknown device. I’ve installed all the drivers, etc... I even tried the solution of unplugging the cable and pressing the power button, but I still have the problem. I’m on Vista, I need help please, thank you in advance.

Hi,  Have you contacted the support service of the brand of your controller?  Have you tried your controller on another PC?  Have you tried your controller on several USB ports on your PC?  Do your USB ports work?  What is the brand of your controller?  Then I have no more ideas?  Otherwise Merry Christmas and for every problem, there is a solution, so no worries.

Despite your answers I can't find a solution to my problem.
I have an external WD 500 GB hard drive. When I connect it to a USB port on any computer it is no longer recognized, even though before it worked very well.

I have the small light that blinks to signal that it’s functioning normally, but instead of detecting my hard drive it says it’s unknown. Whereas when I plug in other devices, whether a USB flash drive or another hard drive, it works perfectly. I think the problem comes from my external hard drive itself.

Please help me.
