Activate USB Debugging on your mobile in Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging

Me, when I uncheck USB debugging, it automatically gets checked again. What should I do?

So if it is not checked, check it and you should normally get this message:
      USB debugging?
USB debugging is intended solely for development. You can use it to copy data between your computer and your device (...)
      click OK.

If it is checked, uncheck it and then check it again!

Normally, once checked and after clicking OK on the message, you should have this image:
      http://img.wylio.com/flickr/132031/186/4546165305
on a black background with "connect the USB port" written on it.
That's it. For more questions, don't hesitate to ask. As for those whose option automatically unchecks, I can't say anything; it doesn't happen to me! Try calling your operator for assistance, sorry.

HELLO everyone!! So, having had the same issue as you with the Samsung Galaxy Ace, it's actually very simple:

plug your USB cable into the phone, you will see "USB connected" at the top of the screen, click on it with your finger and scroll down, you will see "In progress:
USB connected, copying files to/from your PC", click on it and you will see the green check mark appear, click on "connect USB storage", then "ok", and there you go!! The check mark turns orange when it's good!!

      Thank you very much!!
I have tried in vain with PC Studio (which I had for my other Samsung laptop) with no results, nor with USB debugging...
However, with Kies barely installed, everything started up on its own!! All the drivers were found before I even touched anything. It took a while to download with the updates, but it was far from the hassle of the last three days!!!
Thanks again and good luck to the others!!

I found for the Galaxy Ace S5830 in wireless modem mode: Download the latest version of Samsung Kies 2.1.0.11112_41_7 from samsung.fr or update your Samsung Kies if it is already installed on your laptop (this is quite long) by going to Help then Update in the menu bar at the top right. Older versions do not support all Galaxy Ace models; they may not recognize it, hence the inability to connect the mobile to the PC and make the modem function operational.
Once the latest version of Samsung Kies is installed, update the mobile phone firmware by connecting it to the PC with the USB cable. The software will first ask for the update; click OK, it takes a while but it works. Then disconnect the cable and follow the same steps to connect the PC to the mobile wirelessly via Wi-Fi, and it works.

      Hello,
I downloaded Kies from the Samsung website (free).
The download took a long time but worked; then, when opening the program, it had to do another update that also took a lot of time. Then, when I connected my Samsung Galaxy Ace via USB to my computer (Windows 7), it said that the device was not recognized and to connect a device. I ran the tests suggested by Kies, but it didn’t help. I restarted my PC only to encounter the same problem. I restarted my smartphone while it was connected via USB to my PC. And there you go! Everything is working!

Kies works wonderfully, don’t hesitate to download it :)

    Hello,
I had the same problem already resolved with Samsung's customer service.
Before transferring the photos, you need to uncheck USB debugging.
Settings => Applications => Development => USB Debugging (uncheck it!)
Without KIES or anything else... and it works very well!

    Best regards

It is possible that for some of you this process did not allow you to establish a connection with the PC as it was the case for me. For those, I propose additional information and the procedure that worked with my phone.

    Context
    """""""""""
    1. The connection between an ACE and a PC can only be made using the cable provided by the manufacturer with the phone: a cable from another manufacturer or a cable from another phone of the same manufacturer will not work!
    2. I performed this process on an English version Samsung Ace.
    3. My Android version is 2.3.6 (visible in Settings > About phone > Android version)
    4. The ID of my manufacturer's cable is: UC ECC 1DU0BBK
    5. My Windows version is English XP, Service Pack 3 - 5.1.2600

    Procedure
    """""""""""""
    1. Turn on the phone, no need to turn it off if it was already on.
    2. Connect the USB cable to the phone and the PC.
    3. A USB icon appears at the top left of the screen in the notification area.
    4. Scroll down the notification menu with a finger swipe.
    5. Click on the notification "USB connected - select to copy files to/from your computer".
    6. The "green android" appears on the screen, click on "Connect storage to PC".
    7. A warning popup appears, indicating that some applications may stop when activating USB. Click on [OK].
    8. The android changes color, from green to orange. At this point, the phone appears as a mass storage device in Windows and receives a logical drive letter.

Hello, I have a Galaxy Mini, I do all these operations... I get the little green man appearing... I click on connect USB storage... the little man turns orange for half a second and then turns green again....

How should I proceed? Is it a cable problem? However, I'm using the cable that came with the phone.....

      Can you help me?

      @puce75,

I don't know the Galaxy Mini and I've never tested it, however here are a few suggestions that might help you:
      - try connecting the Mini directly to the PC's USB port without going through a USB hub and without using an extension cable.
      - if not OK, try changing the USB port on the PC. I've encountered several PCs where some USB ports didn't work well.
      - if not OK, in the early posts of this thread, there's talk of enabling/disabling debug mode. I've read that elsewhere and I think it's worth trying.
      - if still not OK, try to find someone else who has a Mini to test with their cable. We can't rule out a malfunction with the cable itself.

Note: on some machines (especially in large companies), USB ports are blocked for security reasons. Using USB ports can only be done with explicit permission from the network managers or security officers.

In case of need ==> Samsung number: 01 48 63 00 00 (Non-premium call) for any questions regarding your Samsung products from Monday to Saturday from 9 AM to 8 PM

I also read something silly that said when you connect a Samsung G-ACE to a PC, there was an option in the dropdown actions menu to enable or disable data transfer via USB (not tested yet).

Hello everyone, I had the same problem as you! But fortunately, I managed to solve it!!
Let me explain: you don't need PC Studio or anything else because I don't have it and IT WORKS!!
1-connect your phone to your computer at this point it won't recognize the device.
2-go to settings, applications, development, and uncheck USB debugging.
3-slide down the notification bar for running applications at the top of the phone
4-there you have the connection symbol to the computer with 'disable USB storage' written
5-click on it but just to open the action and DO NOT DISABLE USB STORAGE WHILE IN USE!!
6- Go to 'My Computer' or 'This PC' for those who have Windows 7 and there you have your phone

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask
    =)

In step 5, for this, it should say "Connect USB mass storage activated!!!"

    Good evening everyone,

I found the solution without installing anything. Before connecting the USB cable,
go to: "settings" > "accessibility" and uncheck the accessibility box
and there you go, then plug in the USB cable, pull down the dropdown menu and click on "USB connected" (an image with the green Android robot appears) click on "connect (or enable) USB storage" and there you have it, all done.

I had the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy Ace not being recognized, and I turned off the phone while it was connected to the computer, then turned it back on... and miracle, Kies (which can be downloaded from the Samsung website) recognized my phone... the joys of computing. It might be the same issue (I am, however, using Windows XP).

Good evening everyone... no panic, don’t bother downloading Kies, turn off your ACE and then turn it back on... plug the mini USB into the ACE... pull down the top menu, click on USB connected, the little green Android appears, click at the bottom on connect USB storage... then on OK... and the autorun will appear on your PC desktop... click on open folder and display files... and manage everything that’s on your SD card... however, once you’ve finished transferring your data, eject the card from your PC at the bottom right and then pull down the top menu on your ACE and click on disable USB storage, then unplug the cable. If you don’t do this, watch out for problems... THERE YOU GO...

Good evening again, I thought I was clear but I just reread myself and it's true that it can be misunderstood... Here it is... You absolutely must turn off your Samsung ACE before starting... turn it back on. Connect the mini USB cable to the phone and the PC... It's normal for the PC not to recognize it... On the phone, there is a USB icon that appears in the upper left... pull down the menu... it says USB CONNECTED... click on it... the little green Android man appears... at the bottom of it click CONNECT USB STORAGE... another menu appears click OK... then the Android man turns orange... only after these steps will your PC recognize the SD card from your phone... your PC will then ask you to open the folder and display the folders and manage everything on your SD card... however, once you finish transferring your data, eject the card from your PC at the bottom right and then pull down the menu from the top of your ACE and click to disable USB storage then unplug the cable, if you do not do this manipulation, watch out for problems... hoping this will go well...

So I found a solution! I bought a USB memory card adapter!! You slide the phone's card into it and plug it into the computer's USB port. It's a tiny adapter the size of the card that costs about 5-10€ (at Leclerc) and now I don't have to worry anymore!

Yes, I do have a card reader on my PC, so it's just that it really pisses me off to have a phone like this and not be able to connect to my computer, you know...

Yes, that's clear. It's not normal not to have what you need to connect to a computer with such a latest generation device! It's just that if I didn't do it this way, the phone would have gone out the window...

Yeah, normal lol anyway for me nothing new I've downloaded Kies just in case but it recognizes my phone but there's nothing I can do so when I get fed up I'll call Samsung to blow off some steam to calm down (always better than throwing the phone out the window lol)

To transfer photos to the computer with the Galaxy Ace, you need to insert your memory card into the computer.
