--Hello everyone!!
hoping you are all having a good day, I would like to ask for a little bit of your brainpower to address this issue: I have connected two PCs on a network, one of which is a laptop. The laptop is supposed to benefit from the internet connection of the other PC.
But here's the thing, when I click on the little box on the PC that says "share internet connection with other PCs connected to the network," it just won't do it..... the response is: error 1060: the specified service does not exist as an installed service...
What can be done to remedy this so that eventually the laptop can benefit from the other PC's internet connection?
With that, hoping that someone has the answer to this problem, take care!!!
ho-hi!! see you soon!!

Hi,
why didn't you post on the network forum as well, too late now!!
Just a quick check, first what's your OS??
Are you an administrator on your machine???

Uh... I posted a message on the network forum, but my title wasn't catchy!
I've already checked quite a few things, to see if it wasn't a problem with the network itself. And no, the file transfer from one PC to another works fine, the "pings" are responding, even local network games run without any issues. There's just this little box that I can't check.....

Do you have the routing and remote access service?
To check, right-click on 'My Computer', go to 'Manage', then 'Services', and look for the service mentioned above. Check that it is enabled if it is installed.

Thank you for looking into the subject!!
So... I didn't have these services, they weren't installed... but after I turned them on (both manually and automatically)... I went back to the properties of my internet connection, tried to check the box for my connection sharing, and boom!! error again!! the same one!!
"unable to enable access sharing error 1060: the specified service does not exist as an installed service"....
And if I click on "settings" for the Windows firewall (just above), it doesn't work either... it tells me that "due to a problem...etc.", even though my Windows firewall is disabled...
I do have Avast, but it is configured so that the networks don’t cause any problems, I even disabled it while trying to test this!!
I continue to dig... But to thank you, I still want to dedicate this dance of Furby to you: <(")> (>")> <("<) (>"<)
Blue currant is the sky in my glass and I drink, in great swigs, the good wine of pleasure that drowns me
