Hello everyone :)
I'm reaching out because right now I don't know what to do :p
First of all, I got my JBL amplifier (750 watts) and JBL subwoofer (1000 watts) last December, and in terms of RMS watts, they're almost equivalent. With the help of a friend who had already installed his amplifier and subwoofer in his Golf, we set everything up in my little 2002 206. Connections done, everything worked perfectly, so it was time to finally listen to some music :)
But then comes the problem, last week I put on some music and noticed that I no longer had bass, which was strange. Once I got home, I checked, and indeed the fuses had blown. No problem, that happens sometimes. I rushed to Feu Vert, bought two 20A fuses like the original ones. I connected them, everything worked again, but after driving 1km, boom, it blew again. Grrr
I changed them again (I had spares with me), and this time after 100m, it blew :o
So here’s my problem, for the past week, my amplifier fuses keep blowing. I don't know where it could be coming from..
Does anyone have any idea by chance? :)
Thanks in advance
PS: I've checked the connections, they seem fine, but I haven't really dug deep into it to verify everything. I should point out that the terminal on the battery is too large for the connection, so we made our connection through the fuse box located in the engine.
For 6 months, it worked very well though :(
