Issue with Beats by Dr.Dre Studio headset

Hello,
Here's my problem:
Three months ago, I bought a used Studio Beats by Dr. Dre headset on Leboncoin from a private seller who was selling it because he was going abroad for his studies. However, for about a week now, this headset, which worked perfectly before, has been producing very poor sound even at low volume, it crackles a lot on the bass (even at low levels...) and at times emits a very loud crackling sound that forces me to take it off... It is therefore unusable, I have tried it with several devices (mp3, phone, etc.) and the problem seems to come from the headset. I would therefore like to have it repaired (the guy bought it at Christmas 201°), but I only have the box and the serial number on the headset (no invoice :S ). I would like to know if it is possible to have it repaired with just the box or the serial number, and if so, where to go. So, if someone could help me it would really help as I'm not sure what to do now, and given its price it puts me in a bit of a bind... I am waiting for your responses, thank you in advance :)

You need to change the batteries! ^^ I had the same issue! If it’s not a battery problem though :/ I won't be able to help you.

Ah, I have the same problem, but I just changed the batteries, so I’m relieved. Do Beats need special batteries then?

Information obtained internally: it comes from big ears, especially if you listen to so-called "subversive" music, those assholes aren't clever.

I hope for your sake that it's not a counterfeit.

Then, contact Monster's customer service.

Given what you're describing, it could be due to two things.
The membrane being partially torn
A component that has failed

In any case, there's nothing you can do alone, unless you have skills in electronics.

Thank you for responding, but how can I tell if it's a counterfeit, and if not, how do I contact Beats customer service because I can't find any number? Maybe on their website?

You can’t know if it’s a counterfeit or not. They are well made.

Here's what I did: I called the Beats by Dre customer service at the number you provided, and a lady answered me saying "I can't do anything for you." Is it possible to get it repaired at a repair shop other than Beats? Thank you for the answers.

Hey,

Slimshady is right! I had the same problem, so I researched on forums and found this one, I read the first posts but knowing that the first answers were impossible for me because I have no receipt and there’s a dent on one earbud, I decided to change the batteries and it worked! No more crackling, the sound is perfect again!
A little hint: you need to check the switch, if the red is less bright, don't look any further, it's the batteries! :)

I had the same problem too, the light on the switch turned green, while it should be red!! Probably a battery issue.

in the right-side shell of the helmet -> we turn the round plastic, and voila, we have access to the battery compartment.

Hello, I have the same issue as you except that only one earbud is not working and I bought it used, it's a Beats Audio by Dr. Dre HD. Thank you for responding quickly if anyone has had the same problem and how they resolved it.

Hello.

I advise everyone against buying a used headset. This equipment is fragile
electrically and disproportionate use quickly destroys its internal mechanics. It may look good externally, but the drivers are worn out and
who knows! Now, I don't know how much Robert Nesta paid for this used headset, but given the price of a new one... he could have treated himself to a superb Sennheiser
with much better sound (72 € for mine) considering the comparison of their technical specifications. A musician's word!

Hi.

Just "half" agree with you LAOTSEU. With a mass cut, you won't have any sound at all, impossible!. However, if this mass only holds on "a thread", the section of this tiny thread won't bring the intensity required by the two drivers of the headphones, and thus you're right, the bass will be much weaker and the rest of the spectrum will be attenuated as well.
For everyone having issues with headphones, I remind you that with a simple digital multimeter (5.95€ including battery at Leclerc) you can check the condition of your headphones:
impedance of the speakers using the ohmmeter section, or check the cable using the diode section. However, when it comes to checking the condition of the membranes, we can only assess that visually. Tear = junk!

Sorry to contradict you: there is only one case where a ground cut eliminates the sound: it’s when the source is mono and the balance is exactly in the middle (hence my suggestion to test the balance).
Otherwise, as I mentioned earlier, there is still the differential signal (which is often at a high level in pop, rock, rap music, etc...).
This signal is often weak in bass for acoustic and physiological reasons, but this is not always true in the aforementioned examples.
In short: if only the ground is cut, the headphones are in series, out of phase, and simply reproduce the difference between the left and right.

It's either a battery problem or the jack socket that's acting up; in that case, you'll need to keep replugging the jack!

Hello,
- If both sides had the same problem at the same time, it most likely comes from the batteries, which need to be replaced simultaneously with two identical new batteries.
- After this check, if the problem persists on one side, you need to look into the earpiece.
Why? Because the bass is often identical (or nearly so) on both channels and constitutes the largest part of the power (especially on this brand where it is deliberately exaggerated).
P.S: Most Beats in circulation are "fake" (not necessarily worse than the "real" ones).

Hello,

If a wire in the cable is cut, there are 2 possibilities:

- One channel is completely cut off (possibly intermittently, if there is a bad connection).

- In case of a break in the common ground (common to both channels): loss of stereo (the 2 channels
output the same differential signal) and very low bass. There can be high distortion, especially on FM stereo (analog) or certain poor-quality MP3s, for example. This phenomenon can be demonstrated with the balance (left-right).
