Good evening,
as mentioned in the title, I would like to know which software is more effective between
Malwarebytes and Spybot?
Currently, I have Spybot, and I'm hesitant to switch to the free version of Malwarebytes...
I have read several old topics that claimed Spybot was somewhat "outdated"; is that still the case?
One last question, is there resident protection in the free version of Malwarebytes?
Thank you in advance.

It's done.
Now, the only thing left is to find software to replace it; I suppose Malwarebytes is one of the best right now?

Hello
Do not download Malwarebytes, update it manually before each use. Close it as soon as you're done.
tutorial: http://www.donnemoilinfo.com/tuto/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/
Do not add it to quick start, no automatic updates, do not sign up, do not buy, do not touch anything in the protection tab.
This way it is free, it does not consume resources permanently.
(no, it doesn't have real-time protection for free. But a recent antivirus, even free like Avast 6, already includes spyware hunting which wasn't true 3 or 4 years ago.)
You can add it to the right-click menu to quickly scan a file, but in this case it benefits from the last update you made; if it's the same day, no problem, if the update is a month old, it's up to you to remember.
