GAME RULES
For 2 to 6 players - AGE: from 8 years old.
MATERIAL
* 1 game board with 31 spaces corresponding
to the 31 days of the month.
* 6 tokens in different colors.
* 16 TRANSACTIONS cards.* 16 LOAN cards.
* 80 MAIL cards.
* 6 Savings booklets.
* 1 bundle of banknotes and 1 die.
OBJECT OF THE GAME
The goal is to manage your daily budget better than
the others throughout the game. At the end, the accounts are settled: the one who has the most money
wins the game!
GAME SETUP
One player is appointed as the Banker. They
distribute to each player 650 euros, one token, and
one savings booklet. They separate the
TRANSACTIONS cards from the LOAN cards and shuffle the 80 MAIL cards. They place the stacks of
TRANSACTIONS and MAIL cards face down on the table and keep the LOAN card stack nearby.
GAMEPLAY
Before the game starts, the players decide on the number of months, which is the number of complete rounds
of the game board that the game will last. You can decide to play for one month, a quarter, or even a whole year.
Each player places their token on the Start space. The game proceeds clockwise.
On their turn, each player rolls the die and moves
forward the number of spaces corresponding to the number shown on the die. On their turn, each player will therefore land on a space whose instructions they must follow.
THE SPACES
Each day of the month is marked by an event. Only the "Sunday" space allows you to
relax and calmly wait for your next turn.
Mail days: these are the days when the mailman
comes. When you land on this space, draw from the stack of MAIL cards the number of cards
indicated on the mailman’s envelope. If, for example, it shows a 3, take 3 cards, the top three.
Transactions: draw the top card from the TRANSACTIONS stack. This card offers you to make a deal. If the proposed purchase interests you, pay the Bank the price indicated under the drawing, to the left, PURCHASE PRICE. Otherwise, put the card back under the stack.
If you are short of money for this purchase, withdraw from your savings booklet, ask for a LOAN, or combine these two operations.
Furthermore, please note that for any withdrawal of money from
your savings booklet, you must pay a flat fee of 100 euros to the Bank.
Make your sales: this is the time to sell one of your TRANSACTIONS cards to the Bank for the price indicated under the drawing, in the center, REAL VALUE.
The Bank pays you the stated amount, and you place the card back under the TRANSACTIONS card stack.
Winning lottery tickets: if you land on Tuesday the 30th, the day of ticket validation, and if you hold one or more Lottery tickets, you have won! The Bank will promptly pay you the amount won and you return your tickets to the stack of MAIL cards. Be careful, tickets are valid for only one month. When you reach the 31st of the month, if you still have Lottery tickets, return them to the stack of MAIL cards.
Dice game: if you land on the 10th of the month, a dice game is organized. All players, one after the other, roll the die. The one with the highest score wins 200 euros, paid by the Bank.
Electoral fund: whenever a player lands on this space, everyone pays 100 euros into the fund. This forced contribution... cannot be avoided.
Time change: when a player lands on this space, everyone moves back one space and follows the instructions of the new space they find themselves on. A player who is fortunate enough to be on the START space at that moment returns to Wednesday the 31st and collects 650 euros from the Bank again. But if their position requires them to move back to the "Time change," they skip this space and then land on a TRANSACTIONS space.
Payday: land here at all costs, even if the die points exceed the number of spaces between you and it, and act in the following order:
1. Receive 650 euros from the Bank.
2. Cash in the interest from your Savings... if you have money in your booklet!
3. Pay the interest on borrowed money... if you have taken a loan from the bank!
4. Settle all accumulated bills by drawing the MAIL cards throughout the month.
5. Repay or not all or part of your loans.
6. Withdraw money from your savings booklet or, conversely, add money... (these operations are optional).
7. Return to the banker any Lottery Tickets that were not validated on the 30th of the month as well as any postcards or advertisements. They will no longer be valid.
8. Have the banker note the month you are about to start and place your token on Start, unless your game is over.
THE ELECTORAL FUND AND THE RELIEF FUND
They are funded by space 8 on the game board ELECTORAL FUND and by the use of "In case of need" cards..., see in the section on MAIL cards. The sums paid form a pot located in the center of the game board. This pot goes to the first player who rolls a 6 with the die.
THE CARDS
Like the spaces, most of the cards condition each player's game. These cards belong to two categories: TRANSACTIONS Cards. These are cards that allow you to make deals. Be sure to acquire them when you land on a corresponding space, provided, of course, you have money.
During the month, when you land on Make your sales, you will be able to sell one of your TRANSACTIONS cards for a profit. For example, a racehorse that you purchased for 1400 euros, the Bank will pay you 2800 euros for it.
As for the 140 euro commission, it will be paid to one of the players according to the following rule: each rolls the die. The one with the highest score wins. It is also the Bank that pays the commission.
MAIL Cards. These cards provide directives, information, news by mail. They are obtained on mailman days. They come in various categories.
Set aside, after reading them, the postcards and advertisements. They serve no other purpose than to entertain you, and they do not mention any sums of money.
The others, however, require your attention: notably invoices, maintenance fees, doctors' fees, insurance premiums. Follow their directives. At the end of the month, they must be settled with the Bank.
Note the particular nature of the following cards: MÉDICA and CAROTO insurances: they are optional. If they interest you, keep them and pay the indicated premium; otherwise, return them face down to the stock. They are of course expensive but keep in mind that one cancels doctors' fees and the other cancels car repair invoices.
In case of need... when you have debts, roll the die and bet an amount less than 200 euros; if you roll a 5 or a 6, the Bank pays you 10 times your bet. But if you roll a lower point, you must pay your bet to the Relief Fund. This card can be used at any turn of the game, but you may only use it once.
All previous cards (TRANSACTIONS and MAIL) must be returned to the banker as soon as they have been used. When the stock is exhausted, he shuffles and packs them again, face down.
He carefully separates the TRANSACTIONS from the MAIL and keeps the LOAN cards separate, as at the beginning of the game.
Whoever, on the 31st of the month, can no longer meet their debts can auction off their TRANSACTIONS and INSURANCE cards.
If nobody wants them, they address the Bank which pays them their fair value. Finally, if despite everything, they remain insolvent, they must withdraw from the game, marked by their shortsightedness.
SAVINGS AND LOANS
The banker is responsible for transactions. He cannot tolerate a player, possessing sufficient savings to pay their debts, to borrow money. The saver puts money into their booklet. If, for example, at the end of the month they have saved 2500 euros, they will receive 250 euros in interest.
Caution, the saver can only touch their interest at the end of the month, if they have deposited the amounts into their booklet before the 23rd of the month (before space 23). After the 23rd of the month, it is indeed forbidden to deposit money into their booklet.
However, if during the month, they make any withdrawal, they must immediately pay 100 euros to the Bank, regardless of the amount of their withdrawal.
Sometimes, it may be interesting to make a withdrawal, even if you have to pay 100 euros to the Bank: indeed, thanks to this withdrawal, you may be able to buy one of the TRANSACTIONS cards and sell it later at a profit!
Loans are also taken from the Bank. The amount of a loan is uniformly 1000 euros. The banker gives the money to the borrower with a LOAN card that serves as a permanent control.
At the end of the month, the borrower pays the interest owed to the Bank. The borrowed amounts can be kept by the borrower without being repaid to the Bank during the month the loan was contracted and during the following 2 months. But the
