Sims: Update could not complete

I wanted to install The Sims 2: Nightlife that I bought, so far everything is going well as usual, except that at the end of the installation it shows me the update and then "the update process could not be completed. The installation will now end."
And there, from 100% it goes back down to 0%, and ultimately it doesn't install!
What should I do?!

Well, after quite a struggle, I found out how to do it...
This update issue that cannot be completed comes from the fact that despite uninstalling the programs during reinstallation and even having cleaned with CC cleaner, there are still some leftover files from The Sims 2 that I haven't been able to locate...
    Quick fix!
First, install the first 4 DVDs of The Sims 2 as planned.
Then, without following the normal order which should be The Sims: University, install The Sims: Mansion & Garden Stuff directly if you have the complete game, or the last DVD you own with which you usually launched your game before the reinstallation... Then resume the normal installation order of all your other CDs, University, Nightlife... etc... You won't have any problems, it will tell you that your updates have been successfully completed :))

    That's it...
    Enjoy your game!

    Hi,

I solved the issue thanks to another forum, I simply uninstalled my Sims and cleaned everything related to it in the registry using regcleaner. Then I restarted my PC and reinstalled everything, and it works.
    Give it a try!

    See you!

I have a problem: I couldn't update it, but I finally succeeded. Now the game constantly asks me to insert the correct CD-ROM (since it’s a downloaded Sims 2). I insert the 4 CDs and none of them work, and when I click again, it tells me to update even though it's already updated.
    Could you help me please?

Very simple guys, you all have the same problem, I had the same issue so here is the solution:
DISABLE ALL YOUR ANTIVIRUSES/FIREWALLS during the installation of additional disks for The Sims 2!
very simple so you just close your antivirus (mine is Panda Antivirus+Firewall 2008) and there you go, it's working!!!!
    bye and you're welcome
