Why is my PS3 freezing while I’m playing?

Hello,
One day I was playing Killzone 3 when suddenly my PS3 froze on the screen, so I couldn't control anything and even the PS button didn't work. I pressed the console button to turn it off, but it beeped three times and wouldn't turn off, so I had to unplug it or turn it off by pressing the button in the back! When I turned it back on, my game was still in the PS3, the light indicating that there was a game in the PS3 was on, but when I went to the game menu, the CD icon for the game in my PS3 was missing. So, I turned off my PS3, left it for an hour, then turned it back on and the CD icon for the game was back, so I started the game and my PS3 froze again and again and again... every time I start a game and the CD icon for the game is in the menu and I switch games, my PS3 won't read the game I just put in; it's not rejected but it can't find it (the light indicating there is a game is on)!! So why?? And what can I do to make it work properly when I play a game??
