I want to go to the Internet Explorer 6.0.28 options
and when I click on Internet Options I get the following message:

This is my personal computer and I've never requested anything!
Can someone please help me?

Hello,
I have the same problem with the same message that appears but only when I want to use the hyperlink from my table of contents in Word.
Does anyone know where this is coming from and how I can get rid of it?
Small detail: I uninstalled Google Chrome just before, is there a link?
Thank you!

Could someone help me!
PC: ACER Aspire 1350
XP Pro- SP2
Good evening
I have the solution to your problems
I had the same issue as you
and I finally found the solution to my problem
What happened is that
I must have been the victim of a pest that installed restrictions to prevent me from disturbing it.
I had to restore my registry keys.
To do this, I had to download a small software called Zeb-Restore
All the information + download link can be found here:
https://jesses.pagesperso-orange.fr/ [...] ctions.htm
I sincerely hope I could help you
Best wishes

Hello everyone
I also have problems with my computer that regularly shows that restrictions are in place, even though I haven't installed anything, of course!
I have created a HIJACKTHIS report available at the following link: https://www.cjoint.com/?cuqObrXCJh
I've tried everything my IT knowledge allows me, and no results!
If someone could provide a solution, that would be amazing!
Thank you in advance to everyone who reads this.

Hello, excuse me for asking you the same thing, but could you tell me the steps to follow? That would be nice, or someone who followed your advice. Thank you!!! bertrandnoemie@voila.fr
Hello everyone.
---> For Noonsie, Casaclan59, and Myquestion: The issue Fiasco was having is related to the Spybot software (free downloadable anti-spyware and anti-trojan), in which it is possible, as a security measure, to "Lock the IE homepage against changes" and "Lock the Control Panel of IE against any opening from IE." If the boxes are checked (they are not by default, so you would have had to do this beforehand, which does not seem to be the case especially for Myquestion who doesn’t know where to find these options), then this can be a cause of the restriction issue. So just uncheck them.
--> For Myquestion: I assume you are in default mode in Spybot. To access additional options, go to "Mode," then select "Advanced Mode." Next, in the tabs that appear on the left, go to "Tools" then "IE Adjustment," and you will be able to modify everything I just mentioned. However, be careful, as the name suggests, this mode is primarily for experts; do not modify anything at random or make a backup beforehand. Hoping this works.

Hello,
I have an Office XP package and when I download my messages using Outlook, I can't click on the links that are sent to me without getting the usual message: restrictions in place etc.. contact your system administrator.
It's quite frustrating because I can't respond to certain requests that would interest me.
What can I do to restore the link connection in messages with the internet (ISP = orange)?
Thank you for your help.

Hello; I am looking for an explanation on how to remove a restriction that has been placed on my computer by I don't know who and that prevents me from accessing both the control panel and the properties of drive C with the same message: This operation has been restricted...
Please really help me because I am stuck.
Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone
I accidentally activated the restriction option for all applications, so nothing works on my computer, I can't format it and I've tried to repair it with the Windows XP SP3 CD but it hasn't changed anything
The problem is that I can't execute anything, neither regedit, gpedit, cmd, system restore, notepad... nothing at all
If only someone could give me a way to open gpedit, then my problem would be solved
Thanks to everyone

looooooooooool I'm like me, I use my old computer while waiting to find the solution on the other computer... I can't do anything, not even open drive C or D... cmd doesn't work... regedit neither, not even gpedit.msc... I click on almost anything, system restore, control panel, nothing works... it drives me crazy to see my new computer with a screen that only shows the background, there are no icons or start menu, I always have to go through run in ctrl+alt+delete, but going through there, everything I click to open says restrictions are in effect on the computer... grrrrr help me please or rather help us, I see that there are several others like me, this is the worst of all my problems I've had because this is the only one I can't solve my problem!!!!!!!
Who can provide the solution to remove this restriction in effect? Please tell me the steps to take, as I have a CAP file to complete and I can't do it with this restriction in place; it's blocking everything. To go online, I need to access the Internet options, but I can't execute anything.
Thanks for the help.

I am using IE7. I had this problem after uninstalling Google Chrome which had intruded during an operation. I used the following suggestion, found at http://faq-outlook.fr/articles.php?article_id=227. It worked great the first time:
Open Notepad (or any text editor, but don't confuse it with a word processor)
Copy/Paste what is between the dashes below
--------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\htmlfile\shell\open\command]
@="\"C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\IEXPLORE.EXE\" -nohome"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SOFTWARE\Classes\htmlfile\shell\opennew\command]
@="\"C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\iexplore.exe\" %1"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm]
@="htmlfile"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.html]
@="htmlfile"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.shtml]
@="htmlfile"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.htm]
@="htmlfile"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.html]
@="htmlfile"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.shtml]
@="htmlfile"
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\htmlfile]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.htm]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.html]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.shtml]
--------------------------
Save the file with the name "restrictions.reg" (for example, but the .reg is imperative) with the quotes
Launch Windows Explorer, double-click the file and accept the modification merge.
Note: If you are using a 64-bit Windows,
"C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\IEXPLORE.EXE\" becomes "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Internet Explorer\\IEXPLORE.EXE", so here:
Good luck!
