Help! How to read an SXW document?

Hello,

I would like to read an SXW document on my new computer that has Word, how can I do that?

Is it possible without downloading Open Office?

    Here's exactly what is happening. I changed computers, on my old one I had Open Office documents, which I retrieved on the new computer, but I no longer have Open Office, I only have Word on the new computer, hence my question...

    I hope I explained it well!!!

    I would like to know how to read them without downloading Open Office on the new computer, is that possible?

      These files are archives; you extract them with Unzip or equivalent software and open the XML file with your text editor.

      Thank you for your reply, however...

      I don't have Unzip, and I don't know of any equivalent software... Do I need to download it? What is it called?

      Any software that opens compressed files (zip, rar,...) will do the job.

    I converted the file, but before retrieving it they request a donation; otherwise, it's impossible to access it! Have you tried already?

      On top of that, the worst part is that I made a donation, but I no longer have access to the file, impossible to go back to the page where I wanted to convert!

      So I wrote to them!

      So I'm still at the same point waiting for them to write back to me!

    As I was telling you, I'm really blonde!

    Boo, that's stressing me out, I tried to open it with Winrar, I couldn't do it!

    But I don't understand something. Is the SXW document a compressed file?

    it's an Open Office document, so you won't be able to open it with Word
    try using WordPad or Notepad
