Hello everyone,

For some time now, Emule hasn't been working. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it, but it still doesn't work. I'm not an IT expert, I need your help. I'm using Windows Vista and I'm on Emule version v0.50a

After installing Emule, when I try to open the program for use, I get 8 consecutive error messages:

1st message: Failed to create finished files in the directory "C:/Program Files / Emule / Incoming" - Access denied.-----------------------I click Ok

2nd Message: - Failed to create finished files in the directory "C:/Program Files / Emule / Incoming" - The specified file is not found. I click Ok

3rd message: - Failed to create temporary files in the directory C:/Program Files / Emule / Temp - Access denied. I click Ok

4th message: - Failed to create temporary files in the directory C:/Program Files / Emule / Temp. The specified file is not found. I click Ok

5th message: - Unknown error reading emfriends.met: %s - C:/Program Files / Emule /Config / Emfriends.met contains an invalid path. I click Ok

6th message: - Failed to Load Known.met file C:/ Program Files / Emule /Config /Known.met contains an invalid path. I click Ok

7th message: - Failed to load the credits file, new file created: C:/ Program Files / Emule /Config /Clients.met contains an invalid path. I click Ok

8th message: - Unable to initialize encryption keys. Secure identification disabled. I click Ok

For all these messages, I have no choice but to click OK to proceed to the next step.

Then redirected to the configuration interface, but in the end no servers recognized and no possible connection.

Thank you for your help.

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 3.6.13

Hello,
It seems there are two solutions, one I'm sure of and the other I'm a bit less sure about:

1st solution: you install eMule at the root of the hard drive, that is, C:\eMule

2nd solution: you right-click on the installation file and choose "run as administrator"

Don't forget to uninstall eMule beforehand.
