Change Power Button on Laptop

Hello,
As the owner of a Packard Bell Easynote LJ65 laptop, I recently discovered a major weak point: the position of its power button.
In fact, it is located ON the hinge of the laptop, and during a business trip, I had the unpleasant surprise of finding my button completely broken, despite the protective cover.
However, I am still able to start it using some workaround, but I would like to know if there is a possibility of replacing the power button with another control (perhaps a key on the keyboard, for example).
Thank you for your advice.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.13
