How to change the properties of a ppt?

Solved

Hello,

I am looking to modify the properties of a PowerPoint 97-2003 file.
I did the right-click, properties, summary, advanced actions, and modified everything I could.
Unfortunately, there is still a field that I would like to change, and no matter what I do, I can't manage to.
So here is my question, how can I change the "template" field please?
While searching online, I found a site explaining that certain properties could be removed under Windows 7, can this also be done under XP?

Thank you very much in advance!!!

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 7.0

    Hello Palouche

    Okay for the version! And also, I'm hanging up for the model area ;-)

    That said, I didn't even imagine that this 'model' item could include, in addition to the model name, the path of a model used for a document. Maybe because it was taken from a server? No idea.

    You found the solution for 2007 to remove personal information, but the inspector does not consider this item as personal data to remove. So I don't know if there's a solution.

    Just an idea to work around:

    - Save your file as is as a template, on your personal drive (save as / in file type, point to template .potx and a random name).

    - And create a new file based on this template (new file / my templates / your random name).

    When saving, it will only show the name of the template you created.

    Does that work for you?

    Hello

    Where do you find this 'model' field and what is inside it?
    Because in my Power 2003 -> properties, summary, advanced... model, I don't have it.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

    To see this field, I just need to, as explained above, right-click on the ppt file (which is on my desktop), properties, "summary" tab, and then click on advanced.
    A list of fields appears, grouped by "themes": description and origin.
    It's in the description that there is the model field.
    In the order in which I see them, it is: title, subject, category, keywords, model, etc.

    The "value" corresponding to the "model" field is actually a location:
    it gives something like D:\marc\xxx\filename
    xxx being the name of a company, I have "masked" it.

    The goal is either to modify this value so that neither marc nor the name of the company appears, or to make it invisible, for example by deleting this field...

    I obviously tried moving the file to see, and even moving the entire desktop. That didn't help (as you can imagine).

    I think this field is a "remnant" from a previous life of my computer (hence the need to "remove" it).

    Thanks in advance for your help!

    Re Palouche

    It seems we don't have the same fields in the same places ;-)))

    Because if your concern is
    "The "value" corresponding to the "model" field is actually a location:
    it gives something like D:\marc\xxx\filename
    "
    I have this info in the location of the general tab

    But in any case, a save path can be changed. And we set a neutral path. But this path will change for the person to whom you will send this file, if you need to send it. So I'm not quite sure.

    But there’s another thing. Maybe that’s what you need:
    In Power, on the file, you can remove personal information from a file
    -> Tools
    -> Options
    -> Security tab
    -> Check "Remove all personal information from this file upon saving"

    Is that better?

      argh!

      Actually, I misspoke: I have Office 2007, but I save everything in 97-2003 format for compatibility issues with other computers in the office (especially Macs, I really don’t like Macs!)

      And maybe I'm not fully awake, but I can't find the path you showed me:
      -> Tools
      -> Options
      -> Security tab

      However, while searching a bit, I found this:
      Office button
      Prepare
      Inspect Document
      There, I search for “document properties and personal information” and deleted them all
      It successfully removed the information in the description field (right-click on the document, properties, summary) except... the template :(

      By the way, when I go to the properties after clicking on
      Office button / Prepare / Properties / Advanced properties / Summary
      a list of fields appears:
      title, subject, author, etc., and the famous “template” at the end

      It's the only field whose value is obviously non-editable...

      Help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee hahaha!

    Hello Argixu,

    I'm sorry for my late reply, but of course, on the weekend, I don't have my desktop PC with me :)

    I followed your instructions to save the presentation as a template, then open the template and save it again as a ppt, and it seems to have worked!

    Thank you so much for your help and patience,

    See you soon,

    Palouche
