Do not count the words of the footnotes on p

Hello,

How can I prevent the words in the footnotes inserted using the Insert Footnote function in the References tab from being counted in the total word count of our text?

    You go to the Review tab in the Proofing group and click on Word Count.
    There, uncheck: include text boxes, footnotes, and endnotes.
    Now you can go to Insert, QuickPart, Field and choose Numwords.
    Try it once the field is inserted, check again include.... and press F9 you'll see that your word count changes indeed.
