Hello,
I have a few questions regarding connecting USB ports to the motherboard. I have an ASUS P5GDC-Deluxe motherboard and a Nikao 8004C case. There are two USB ports at the back on one module. There are also two USB ports at the front of the case.
I went to read a document on another site about this type of connection.
Q-1 If I understood correctly, you can either connect the cable from the back module or the eight conductors coming from the front of the case, but not both at the same time?
Q-2 I have two USB connectors (10-1 pin) on the motherboard: USB56 and USB78. Which connector should I choose? The manual for the motherboard doesn't mention it, but there must be a difference.
Thanks,

It is possible to connect both at the same time, it depends on the motherboard.
1 USB port is characterized by 4 conductors, one positive, one negative, one data plus and one data minus.
On your motherboard, USB56 means USB port 5 and USB port 6.
USB56 and USB78 represent a total of 4 USB ports.
On some motherboards, a jumper must be moved to use either one or the other, this is specified in the manual for your motherboard.

Well, that's nonsense; whoever told you that should stick to talking about cooking...
Especially since your board is a very recent model and all the USB ports are 2.0, with a total of 8 available on this motherboard. (I'm not the one saying it; it's ASUS):

Glad to hear you've solved your problem.

Hello,
After checking, I have to agree with you. I examined my computer and there are indeed eight USB2 ports.
Furthermore, it makes perfect sense: in USB56 and USB78, there are consecutively the digits 5, 6, 7, and 8. I should have thought of that.
It was someone responsible for a chat who misled me. Next time, I will ask the question in more than one place. I took that for granted.
Sorry.
Thank you for your contribution.

Thank you for getting back to me.
In the end, I solved this problem by going to the website coupdepoucepc.com where there is a technical sheet that is very easy to understand.
My motherboard can only take two USB ports. I chose the two ports located at the front of the case and had to make the connections.
I disagree with your definition of the USB56 and USB78 ports that you provided. I spoke with someone who told me that USB56 meant USB1.1 and USB78 meant USB2.
Thanks again.
