Hello,
First of all, I want to thank the whole community who has helped me dozens of times. I finally signed up because I have a problem and from now on nothing will stop me from replying to the posts I come across now that I'm registered ;-)
Here's my problem:
I thought that my USB ports on the front of my tower were working perfectly until I decided to plug in an external hard drive (test carried out with 2 different hard drives and 2 different cables, one of good quality). The thing is, the hard drives are not recognized when I plug them into the front ports, while there is no problem with the USB ports at the back of my tower.
If I plug a hub into the back ports and connect the hard drives to it, they are no longer recognized and make a "tic" (like a clock) every second.
They don’t even appear in the Windows disk manager. I've tried formatting them in FAT32 and NTFS, connecting my front ports to the 2 other pins on my motherboard meant for that, but nothing changes.
My motherboard is an Asus M4A77T and my power supply is only 480w.
Do you have a solution because it’s really annoying to have to crawl behind the tower every time I want to plug in an external hard drive.
Thank you in advance for your replies.

UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone to help me solve my problem?
By the way, I have a 3rd external hard drive and that one doesn't work on any port, yet I can see it clearly in disk management. I don’t want to format it as it contains tons of data that I care about a lot.
Please help!!! -

After 3 weeks and 2 follow-ups, I still haven't received a response, just a link that sends me to the site's guidelines.
I hope this page will be very well indexed by Google, and that hundreds of internet users with the same problem will stumble upon it and be as desperate as I am.
Thank you very much CCM! :-)-
