Hello,
Hello,
I have a problem with my device, a Fujifilm Finepix S 1600, which I bought a little over a month ago. When I tried to take a photo, the screen turned green and the device froze. Since then, the device has frozen after taking the third photo, and I cannot see the photos I took on the device; it shows me an error message, and the photos no longer appear on the computer.
I don't know what to do.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 8.0

I had the same problem, but no green screen. I formatted the 4G SD card and that solved the issue. This device is very efficient, but there are some minor problems to solve; for example, when the batteries are running low, some photos are no longer visible and the device shows "reading error" even though there are no icons indicating low battery. At that point, everything freezes and you have to remove the batteries.
But for your green screen, strange.......

Wah, I'm feeling let down reading your message. My Fuji s1700 was working perfectly since I got it (October 2010), and now, this evening, after transferring the photos from the card to my computer, I deleted the contents of the card to take new pictures. And now, it's dead...
I take a picture, and the indicator turns green then orange successively... I tried removing the card, formatting it as well, but nothing happens. To turn it off, I have to forcibly remove the batteries. For those who bought it online like me, did you find a solution please? :(

It happened to me with the batteries; they were low and as a result, some photos I took did not display. So I changed the batteries, but how do you format the SD card?
Hello everyone,
My fiancée had the same problem with her Fujifilm S1600 bought last July.
After seeing your posts, I tried to reset the device by going into the menu, settings, initialize, press okay, then the same process and reinitialize. personal. (just below initialize), also press okay. I also changed the battery type in the settings menu (Ni-MH for rechargeable batteries), confirmed with okay, and that did the trick, no more blocking issues for taking photos!!!! NO MORE FLICKERING!!!!
Let's hope it lasts!!!!!!
I hope it works for you as well!

Hello,
I have the same issue with mine that I had 15 days ago at Christmas. I tested it, and it's neither the memory card nor the batteries. How can I find technical support? (knowing that it was purchased online)
Thank you in advance!

Hi. To format the card, there are two solutions: using the camera's menu (menu/settings/2nd tab/formatting) or on an SD card reader on the PC "if you have one."
Hello,
I tried through the camera menu and it hasn't changed anything; the camera freezes after the second photo, and I can't view the photos I've taken without the "read error" message appearing. I have changed the batteries to "Energizer," but it still freezes.
How do we find the SD card reader on the computer?

Hello. I don't want to worry you, but I think your device is more ill than mine. Try taking photos without the SD card. If it's the same, it will unfortunately indicate that the problem comes from the device itself. Then for the card reader, it is located on the front of the PC; it appears as small slots (there should be "SD" written above the slot).
I hope it works.......

I just tried without an SD card and after the second photo, the camera freezes, the small light blinks green and orange. I can't find the location of the card reader, maybe it's because I have a laptop. What's unfortunate is that I bought this camera about a month ago and it already has a problem and I don't know what it's coming from. I feel like I'll have to take it back to the store. In any case, thank you for your help.
Good evening.
Indeed Mayou78, your problem is similar to mine.
For now, I have no issues; except when I’m running low on battery.
I deduce that you should try a different set of batteries; or else,
try taking pictures using fewer megapixels.
If the problem persists, you have the customer service option (if you didn't buy it online).
Otherwise, it's a hassle since we can't access the device's settings via the USB cord.
This device is great when it works.
Best regards, Patrick.

Well Maylis, after changing the standard batteries for rechargeable ones, then I formatted the card and since then it's working. It tends to happen when the batteries are drained since the charge indicator has never worked.
If you bought it in a store, customer service and urgent support; if, like me, you bought it online... big hassle
Try one thing though, turn it on and remove the batteries. Maybe, like some computers, it can be reset. I'll find a moment to dig into the problem.
Good luck!

Hello,
I had a Fujifilm FinePix J120 camera last year, and I had the same problem: the screen turns completely green, and it can't be turned off except by removing the battery, and after that it wouldn't turn on anymore. I think it must be an issue with the brand "FUJIFILM". Aside from getting it repaired, there's nothing else to do.

As far as I'm concerned, the eadshot solution almost worked. I mean, it's him who solved my problem for now, even though I haven't quite replicated the thing. I tried your technique, and the bug returned just as quickly.
So, I started the process again, but right after the first reset (so by clicking on initialize), I tried to take some photos, and it worked again. However, if I do it just after the "personal reset," my bugs come back.
There you go, hoping this might help some people.
