Well buying the software is very expensive, and my school doesn't offer the software to students, they tell us to download it. My teacher told us at the beginning of my first year: "Catia would be good to have at home, you just have to find it on the mule or I don’t know where."
But what I downloaded works, I was able to do a montage with it. But I messed with something in the options, and I don't know how to undo it. I reinstalled it because I thought it would reset to how it was before, but no.
And now I don’t know what to do...

Hello Pavol69,
I just came across your question because the same thing happened to me. I searched for a good 5 minutes... until I realized that I had actually mounted the CD2 image before CD1, which is why it says that the B19 code does not exist. The B19 code is the directory where the program will install.
Ciao

It's true... but it's not to do a school assignment; for that, there are computers available at school with the software. But it's still much more convenient to have it at home to work, knowing that the school computers are not always available (that's why they advise us to download it). And anyway, whether it's licensed or not, I think I would have had the same problem.
Well, I managed to install it, I don't really know how, but it works quite well, but there is still a delay before each action I take, it's a bit laggy. So I went into the options (tool => options => general) and changed something regarding the display, and I checked T3 instead of T2, and I ended up with this:
https://imageshack.com/
I can open a montage and access the crafting tree:
But that's it, I no longer have any menus like file, tool, edit, ... I can't access the options anymore, what should I do??
Thank you.
Best regards.

You have changed your environment, (P1, P2, P3) which correspond to different licenses if I understand correctly and to different functions.
You can delete your CATSettings (files that save your Catia options), they are located in your session folder (document and settings or users/users on win 7) then appdata (or application data) > dassault systemes and you should find a folder CATSettings, delete the FrameGeneral.CATSettings file which contains this interface option.
This will reset the option to default once Catia is restarted.

Hello,
Maybe the best thing is to buy a license. :)
Or see if there is a free alternative.
Otherwise, ask your teacher how to do an exercise without the paid software, maybe there is a student license. :XD

I doubt your teacher tells you to download on Emule to complete a class assignment; they are subject to state regulations :(
Moreover, the academic program is based on the possibility of practicing or purchasing student licenses.
You are just looking for a free workaround.

When you don't want to help, there's no point in responding! Especially when you don't know the subject... I've been using it for my courses for almost 4 years, and no, there is no alternative, and no student license either (even in a prestigious school like INSA Lyon, it is not offered). We're no longer in high school, and school programs are not designed based on student licenses! One example among many: Matlab, a license that costs almost €15,000 and is nevertheless essential for studies! Hence the advice from some teachers: download it. It's a real problem because even if in theory we are supposed to be able to work in the establishment, in practice it's another story! How can you actually work on a project when you finish classes at 6 PM and the establishment closes at 7 PM, with about one computer for three students?
You are completely right in principle, but that doesn't prevent respecting the forum rules (or finding the appropriate forum).
Matlab is that ugly thing where when you type "why," it spits out a new nonsense every time? By now, maybe they've implemented the recall of the previous command... Okay, I’ll stop, it's ugly to do that.
