Hello,
I bought a Toshiba laptop today with built-in Wi-Fi ("Ready to go, with Msn, Open Office and other software pre-installed). All I needed to do was initialize my network to make the Internet work. However, I have tried several times without success. The internet remains unusable, and I wonder if it's a Wi-Fi issue, as I'm not very knowledgeable... (considering that 2 other laptops are working in my house).
Thank you in advance. :)

Do you happen to own a Livebox?
If so, you need to switch it to "Association" mode to allow it to accept new devices. -
Hello.
1° Check if your network card is recognized and the drivers are installed:
Start / Connection / Wireless network connection * or Start / Control Panel / System / (tab) Hardware / Device Manager. Make sure there are no exclamation or question marks on your network card.
2° If present and drivers installed, repeat the first step and on wireless network connection, right-click / Properties and check the 2 boxes at the bottom (show icon and indicate if the connection is limited). Close everything.
3° Right-click on the network icon (computer) at the bottom right in the taskbar / Show networks. Choose your box by double-clicking, enter your WEP/WPA key, and connect... it should work.
See you!-

Les systèmes d'exploitation communs incluent Windows, macOS, Linux, et Android.

Sure, here’s the translation: Ok so I’ll start again from the beginning: Your CR is well recognized, the icon appears well in the taskbar, and your box works well with the other 2 PCs....
Model of your LB please, just to know the number of authorized wifi connections...
Another manipulation, assuming everything is ok: Start / Connect / Wireless Network Connection * (right click) / Properties.... or, double click on the network icon in the taskbar (which amounts to the same thing).
General tab / Properties > General tab / simple click on TCP/IP Protocol and the properties just below. Verify that the boxes (2) to obtain addresses automatically are checked, then close everything.-
What do you mean by the model? My Bbox looks like this: http://italiq-expos.com
After that, I will test what you said. -

Ok Bbox (my bad).
Just a quick note since you're not very knowledgeable, in the device manager, make sure your 2 network cards are recognized:
- Network card ****** 802/11 b/g/n (whichever you prefer): wifi
- ******* Fast Ethernet: cable -
The PC configuration being finished, I think your box does not recognize your PC, so connect via cable / Open a web page to access the box via: 192.168.1.1 (in the upper address bar)
-
You need to click on Expert mode on the left to enter your user credentials and thus be able to configure the box.
BUT BEFORE DOING THAT: Let's do a little test! Indeed, I just saw that there is a pairing button called (at Bouygues) "Wi-Fi pairing" (a simple thing so as not to complicate the work of the guys who help...) http://www.degroupnews.com/images/news/dossiers/bbox/photos/bbox-wifi.jpg.
I want to clarify that I don't know this box... that won't be the case anymore lol.
So unplug your cable for now, close your web page and go back to the procedure "3" at the beginning of the conversation but don't click on connection at the end.
Press the "pairing" button on your box and only after that, click on connection..... that should link the PC and the Box and therefore work... -
Displaying networks: right-click / network icon (taskbar) / Properties > 2nd window: Central tab (wireless network configuration) and check "use Windows to configure wireless networks" / Ok > close this window. In the 1st window, display the networks. The different nearby boxes should appear. Choose your box as indicated in my last procedure.
Yes, the button in the middle.... Once activated (10 sec), the Wi-Fi indicator should start blinking. From there, make the connection.... -
Okay, let's start over.
Start / Connections / Show all connections.
Tell me what you see (number of connections, what type, red cross on network, grayed out icon, etc.).-

That's good, I succeeded. In fact, there was indeed a button to turn on the Wi-Fi on the side of my computer (it was quite well hidden). And the funny thing is, it was set to Off... So I turned it to On.
I'm still sorry for the inconvenience, but thank you for your help. I will call on you again if I have a problem. :)
