Little problem with DD dane-elec SoEasy hdmi+

Hello,

I bought this amazing multimedia external hard drive today. I was able to put files on it, so that's not a problem, but the multimedia function has issues...
In fact, I can't access anything other than the first screen and the installation menu. The TV detects the hard drive without any problem, but after a loading time, it says "No Device" in the top left corner of the screen.
Does anyone know what that means? Is it possible that everything wasn't properly installed on my hard drive, or is there a program missing to make it work? Has anyone else had the same issue?
To top it all off, this model is unknown on the Dane-elec website (probably too new) ... So no FAQ, or anything like that.
I'm not really sure what to do now, if you could advise me, that would be awesome!
Thanks in advance!

I'm in the same situation as you,
I just bought it at the supermarket,
I put my files in it, and when it comes time to turn it
on the TV, I can't get past
this message that is starting to drive me crazy.
    NO DEVICE
Already bad at spelling and French
I won't even mention my English.
    Help.

I brought it back to the store, they tried it and it worked great on their TV :-s
but the worst part is that since then, it works at my place too :P
I could advise you to try it on another TV, it might unlock something... otherwise, I don't have any other solutions.

Yes, I found a solution actually, it's because the hard drive was not properly inserted, but now the multimedia function is acting up, so I don't know if it's because of that, but I think I'm going to lose it ^^

      Hi,

I found out where it might come from:
I had the same issue as you, and just plugging in a USB stick with movies on it made it detect, and that's it, everything works.
Oh, I almost forgot, I also downloaded the firmware (uh, not sure about the name! :-$) at this address:

Good luck to you and best of luck
It's so great when you find the solution! :-)

I think I found out where it comes from, for me...
Actually, I think it's simply when you leave the USB cable (to connect it to the PC) on the hard drive! I had a situation once where it gave me the same NO DEVICE error, I tried all the possibilities, and that one worked..
I hope it helps someone in need :)

Hi, this problem does indeed come from leaving the USB cable plugged in.

Thanks to pianobo for saving me from a nerve-wracking moment :p.

I can't read certain AVI files, how come?
I've been struggling for 15 days with this....

I just bought this wonderful device,
but like you, when I want
to watch a movie or photos,
after having put them on the device,
    I realize that my TV
shows me the message that drives me crazy:
    NO DEVICE
    Impossible to go anywhere.
If anyone has a solution, I’m also interested.
    Have a good day.

    Hello

I'm looking for a not-too-expensive multimedia hard drive, and I found this model on fnac.com for €31. Is it a good product? And is the 1TB hard drive included? (I'm asking because of the price!)

    Thank you
