Limited Windows 7 Search Solved

Question

Hello,

I have a file in my library in my music folder called Swedish House Mafia.....

Whether I type "Swedish" or other terms in the Windows start search or in the box at the top of the explorer, my Windows does not show any results.

However, everything seems to be set up normally.

Could someone help me???

Hi,  look in the indexing options (type this in the search box of the start menu). Make sure that the music folder is included, and if it is, click on advanced then Rebuild.  The index will start from scratch and scan all the folders, and your files should appear after that.  -- Don't forget to report that your issue is resolved.

Thank you for your response, I tested this, it was indeed included in Users which excludes AppData but when I rebuilt the index -> Same issue.

Well, it came back. I don't really know how, but I just excluded the Bureau and Downloads from the index, rebuilt the index, and waited on the window for a little while, and it was good.  That's all.

By using the built-in Troubleshooter in Windows instead of online "Windows Search does not display results or no longer starts": http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_search/fr, the response on a French version of Windows is consistently:

The anomaly detection tool dynamically creates Powershell scripts (consequence: it's hard to adapt).
The script TS_CheckPermissions.ps1 retrieves the access permissions of C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data
To be precise, the working folder name is read from the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search
DataDirectory = %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Search\Data\
So far, so good.
Unfortunately, the script extracts the folder Owner's name with the Owner method, which returns the localized name "NT AUTHORITY\Système".
This is where the drama unfolds, this result is compared to an English name "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM".
Thus, the answer is False, leading to this erroneous message.

Workaround
Like everyone who encounters this problem, Raoul was looking to resolve issues with the search module, which was not processing messages from Outlook Office. I have the same problem!!!
I have files already on my USB drives, but when I search for them using Windows Search in the Start menu, I can't find them :p :(

I stopped using the libraries myself, Vivyane1, and then as mentioned above, I changed the indexing options, so you need to look in there, there is an option to rebuild the index.

You just need to go to indexing options, modify, and check the box for the hard drive. Now, when I type the name of my file or document, it appears in the start menu. Of course, your file must be on the hard drive you checked.
