How to know if your DVD burner is dual layer?

Good evening!

I have quite a bit of data to burn, so I started looking to buy dual layer DVDs but... I don't know if my burner is compatible!

How can I find out?

Configuration: HP DV5 1123ef

3GB RAM
Core 2 Duo 2GHz
NVidia 9600M GT

    Hi zzzer

    Install Nero InfoTool here, go to the "Drive" section, then check in the "Writing" section if the DVD +/-R DL boxes are checked. If so, that's good.

      I also want to know if my player can burn double layer DVDs and I have: (-R DL) and (+R DL) checked, can I burn double layer? Thanks.
