Screen that no longer works (Samsung)

Hello,

So I have a problem with my Samsung 2233RZ 120hz monitor, this morning it decided to die, like that ...

In reality it starts up, as usual, but the image displays for 1 second, then the monitor turns off ... but the two small blue LEDs stay on as if the monitor is still working ... with no image, I tried changing the DVI cable (which isn’t good because it’s no longer 120hz) or the power cord, nothing helps ... it doesn’t come from the PC since it works on another CRT monitor ...

Then I test the monitor on a separate outlet ... by itself, the screen turns on and only shows that there is no signal and then the screen shuts off, and the LEDs remain on ...

My monitor is 1 year, 2 months and 1 day old, do you think Samsung would take it back? Is there another solution?

Thank you for reading
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.8

He guarantees 3 years on site, no problem; you call the builder, and he changes it at your place.

Go to the Control Panel; you should see the Device Manager icon or 'Performance Information and Tools'.
Otherwise, try lowering the PC resolution in Display Settings.
Or try booting by pressing F8 in Safe Mode. If it really shows nothing.
For a scan, try Everest or Aida32, which will tell if there is a problem.

    Good luck

If the screen only turns on for one second, it won't be able to do what you recommended. To be sure it's the screen that is to blame, he should try his screen on another PC. It could be the GPU that is at fault.

      See you later

No, it’s not the CG, I’m currently on another screen and it works, as well on the TV.

The Samsung screen, however, does the same thing when it’s plugged in by itself, into a plain outlet with nothing else connected, it displays "no signal" then it turns off and the blue LEDs stay on.

"The Samsung screen, on the other hand, does the same thing when it's plugged in by itself, into a plain outlet with nothing at all, it displays "no signal"."

Nothing more normal. When a screen receives no signal, after a few seconds it displays "No signal input" and goes to sleep.

No but I know that, it normally blinks! here it turns off in barely 1 second (the screen) but the LEDs stay blue without blinking, whereas before when I unplugged the screen (to connect the cable to the TV) it would show no signal for about 15 seconds... and the LEDs would blink!

Oh really? 3 years! That's great! Is it fast? Is it a swap or do I have to wait 4 years for it to be repaired?

Miss_socrates => Well I can go nowhere, it doesn't work at all, only the LEDs work, I have to turn it off and on again for it to display an image for 1 or 2 seconds, and then back to nothing...

No access to the settings or anything

Anyway, thanks for your super quick responses, very reactive! :) :) :)

Go check the PC’s Performance panel (Information and Performance Tools); it recommends ways to improve performance (see my post above)

    good luck!

and well I’m reviving the topic because I have the same issue,
screen cut 2233RZ Samsung just a second after startup...
and no matter the source... so no access to the menu for a reset!

    tragedy....

Lapinrose1 how did you fix this problem?

    A+.

Does this happen multiple times? on every startup?

I had a problem that was due to the ATI Radeon graphics card driver
you need to go to ATI's site and reinstall the graphics card driver

you should check in Control Panel the PC’s performance or in Reports and Solutions (Vista)

It’s also possible to check the status of devices with Aida32 (free to download from the appropriate sites)

I also have the same failure on a 2233rz monitor: it displays the BIOS startup for 1 to 2 seconds (the beginning of the sequence) and then nothing... black screen.

I tried 3 different PCs with different motherboards and different graphics cards, Nvidia or ATI.

The monitor is exactly 1 year and 1 month old with no problems.

It was indeed a hardware issue, handled by Samsung Support... but impossible to know what they did???

It is probably a safety shutdown of the screen following a problem detected at the inverter level.

Well I also have the same problem and obviously my screen is from March 2009, so it’s 3 years and 1 month old, therefore no longer under warranty... it’s funny how these failures happen just a little after the warranty ends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll try to contact Samsung customer service just in case, but I don’t have much faith...

@TIB: does the screen turn on?
    does it display anything?
we should check if the graphics card driver needs to be updated
we should try with another monitor to see if it comes from that or from the PC...

To Miss_socrates, thank you for your reply but I have exactly the same symptom as the others, the PC is not at fault, it works perfectly on my TV and the drivers are up to date, I tested the monitor with several sources, still the same: the image for 1 second and a black screen, it does not go to sleep, I have the impression of a screen “bug” more than anything and access to the menu is impossible, it happened suddenly!!
    Nothing to do apparently...

it would be worth looking in
    control panel>Troubleshooting
or also in Control Panel >Device Manager > Properties to see if it works (normally it should indicate: this device is working properly)
Otherwise, test the hardware with Aida32 (or Everest) to see what it detects.

If he tested the monitor on other PCs with the same result, it seems obvious that the monitor is the one having the problem.

It’s going to be tricky since I have to do it blind… apparently it’s a hardware problem with the monitor and Samsung’s customer service is exceptionally closed today, I’ll wait until tomorrow…

Same problem as you ... Once turned on, it stays lit for only one second and then shuts off ...

I called Customer Service, the courier is coming to replace it this Friday, very efficient service! =D

PS: With about twenty days to spare it would no longer have been under warranty, it died at the right moment :D (Purchased on 31/05/2009)

My Samsung 2233RZ monitor died on the afternoon of June 30, 2012. I check the Internet that evening and browse the forum. On Monday at 9:00 AM I called Samsung customer service directly, even though my monitor was purchased from Rue du Commerce on February 2, 2010. It has just been exchanged for a refurbished working model of the same 2233RZ on the same Tuesday. So don't hesitate, Samsung support is really efficient.

    Hello everyone,
I have the same issue on my 2233rz, the display lamp stops working correctly which is why I have 1 second display, the blue diode stays on and then black screen!

anyway, issue handled by Samsung, direct replacement, feel free to contact them at 01 48 63 00 00
I am really satisfied with their after-sales service and their direct home replacement :)
only thing left is to wait for my new screen in 48 hours.

For information, if the screen was manufactured in 2010 then 2 years manufacturer warranty, if before 2010: 3 years warranty.

    Have a great day everyone
