    Hello,

    - OEM : Hard drive delivered in a complete and assembled PC, provided without a box.
    - RETAIL : Hard drive sold in its original box with accessories, etc...
    - BULK : Hard drive sold without packaging or accessories.

    A+ =)

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer): refers to software provided to manufacturers. This software is tied to the first computer in which it is installed. If you change (or replace the motherboard), you generally need to purchase a new license. It is provided without a manual or with a reduced manual. Microsoft does not support such software. You need to contact

Retail or box, which is practically the same thing: a product supplied with a manual, cables, and drivers. In the case of software, it can be put on another PC and Microsoft handles the customer support.

Bulk: is generally used for parts: products delivered without cables, without a manual, but may have drivers available, if necessary. Basic packaging.

Ah yes, that's true, I believe, but well, I have Ubuntu.

For a CD/DVD drive or a burner, no drivers are needed. They use the generic drivers included in Windows.

      See you!
