Samsung LCD TV, the sound lowers by itself

Hello,

I have a SAMSUNG LCD TV since 2006 and this morning when I turned on the TV, the sound was at 0. I wanted to increase it and there was no problem, except that after 5 minutes the sound bar appears by itself and it automatically goes down to 0.
I tried turning off the TV and turning it back on, but now I can't use the remote control, neither to turn it on nor to change the channel or the volume, and the sound still doesn't work, neither with the remote nor on the TV itself.
What should I do? Is my TV dead?

    I think you have more of a problem with your remote control; something may have gotten stuck in it and the "volume down" button is stuck.

      I am contributing to this forum as I have just solved this problem. :-)

      The problem I had was identical: the sound was automatically and gradually decreasing to 0 and the remote control was unresponsive, as if the volume down button on the TV was stuck.

      In searching other forums, I was able to confirm that this was indeed the case.
      The solution?
      Disconnect the cable that connects the control buttons from the TV stand.
      To do this, open the TV and unplug the cable.

      Personally, I was lucky and simply by opening the TV and cleaning/blowing out the buttons, the problem was solved.
      But if this cleaning doesn't work, unplugging the cable should fix the issue.

      Thank you Alex, by following your steps I was able to solve the sound issue, which involved opening the device and unplugging the sound card cable. After about 4 hours, I turned on the TV and the sound started to work normally through the remote control. I needed 800 Dhs or 75 euros to repair my TV at Samsung-Morocco, but with your suggestion, it was all free and I will keep a commission for you.
