Philips CD560 phone locked

Question

Hello, I have a Philips CD 560 duo phone that is completely blocked: the batteries are good, and the power supply is too. The screens sometimes light up, the keyboards blink... I have unplugged everything, plugged it back in... nothing happens. Are there any known issues with this model? Thank you for your responses.

Hello, one of my two CD560 phones has the same issue (fortunately I still have one...), I've tried several tricks but nothing works. Still under warranty, I'm taking it to the service center, stay tuned for the next episode...

Hello, Unfortunately, I lost the warranty card, and the store where I bought this phone couldn't (or didn't want to) do anything for me... So I had to buy another one: the same one! because this was the only model that suited me (price, color), but this time I made sure to keep the proof of my purchase safe; and now with this new phone, the same problem has reappeared: for the moment, the screen lights up unexpectedly, for varying lengths of time, and then turns off; not broken yet, but I will talk to customer service, as they must have other clients experiencing this problem? It's up to them, the sellers, to alert the manufacturer, whom I will try to contact by looking for their details in the manuals. I hope your seller can tell you more, and if so, please share it with all those who have this issue!

I'm adding myself to the long list of complaints...
I'm having the same issue with my CD560
The screen and keyboard are flashing, only placing it back on the base changes the behavior, it tries to charge and a battery symbol appears on the screen. But there is no display and the phone isn't connected to the base. It is completely inoperable

Just to point out, the issue arose after removing the batteries for a certain period.

I don’t know what Philips will do, but it’s good for the dissatisfaction and disappointments caused by the purchase of this product to be communicated to them by the customers, in person, right?... Personally, I contacted the relevant PHILIPS service by email, and I received an acknowledgment stating that I would get a response within 4 days... It's been much longer, and I still have no answer, and I think I'm going to wait a long time... Have you reached out to PHILIPS? The more feedback there is, the better it will be for maybe this model to be reviewed! In the meantime, I returned my phones and opted for another brand. Best regards.

I took my 2 CD560 phones to the service center (one of which was no longer functioning, see comment from 11.11.10), and since they were still under warranty, they exchanged them for me without discussion (a known but unresolved issue, they told me...). Now I have 2 working phones, but for how long...?
A small downside, the 2-year warranty was not renewed from the date of exchange, so I only have one year of warranty left...

Yes, I too was able to exchange my first pack without discussion, but when the new one started to show the same symptoms, I requested a refund and switched brands... "A scalded cat fears cold water." Best regards.

PS: The saleswoman told me it might be an issue with the series: all of you who still have your phones, check this number and report it on the site... and especially to Philips. Good luck!

I no longer have any problems since I opted for another brand during the second return of the phones in the store, but all of you whose cd560 phones are breaking down, alert Philips!!! who may eventually do something, otherwise, customers will do like me: buy a competing brand!

Hello, I had the same problem with my phone; both handsets were locked and blinking. After checking everything, I took it back to the Carrefour customer service, who replaced it for me, saying they hadn't received any reports on this model (since I wanted to exchange it). I reinstalled this phone a month ago, and tonight I notice that one of the two handsets is already locked. My warranty is still valid for another month, so I'm going to try to exchange it for another model.

I should have read this forum sooner; it would have saved me from buying two sets of batteries (22 €) based on the bad advice from Leclerc's customer service. With the added bonus of "we have never had a problem with this model". My eye!!!

I have exactly the same problem as everyone else. It's June 20, 2011, and my phone is less than 2 years old, and stupidly I can't find the receipt!! It blinks, won't charge anymore, I just spent 17 euros on new batteries and it changes nothing. The devices these days are worth nothing! My HP color printer is a year old and no longer recognizes the cartridges... and I'm told I need to buy a new one... and yes, with what money? The money that is no longer given to me because salaries are frozen. Everything is stuck at the same level: that of the profit of brands that sell you worthless products without warranty so that you buy another new one as crappy as the one before!
It's depressing and exhausting.

Hello I’m joining the club....... my second Philips Duo 560 has the same symptoms as yours, I have nothing on the screen and the buttons aren’t responding anymore, I put in rechargeable batteries to no avail Back to customer service after a year???? To be continued...... I still have the base so one phone Let’s stay positive, there are worse things in life!!!! but still, it’s frustrating before the good old gray phones with the dial that turned had a much longer lifespan!!!!! I have the same problem as you: phone purchased in December 2009, and the same symptoms.  I called Philips customer service, who told me to change the batteries, saying it's normal after 18 months.  Another thing: The store (D*rty) told me their warranty is 12 months and 24 months manufacturer’s warranty. Philips told me over the phone that it’s 24 months store warranty, with product exchange.  I’m fed up with having to buy equipment that breaks down every year!!

Hello, Unfortunately, I have the same problem without the answer, but I may have determined the cause. In the fall, I left a handset in the pool room located about fifty meters away (so weak signal). In the spring, the phone was flashing, etc. I thought the cause was the frost. This summer, I put the second handset in that room and... by the end of summer, it was showing the same symptoms as the previous one. It's really not the frost (I live in the Aix countryside), so I think it's excessive and prolonged distance from the base. I only have the base left: I can't do a new test to validate this hypothesis...

Same issue for a week with this Philips CD 565 DUO phone...
the screen lights up and then quickly turns off, at first I thought it was the rechargeable batteries' charging cycle that wasn't working... so I put in new batteries... and still the same problem.
In my opinion, it's a "PROM" problem (program read-only memory), the chip programmed once at the factory that contains the device's operating program is malfunctioning...
so the phone turns on and off in a loop (Boot/error... Boot/error...)
I think it needs to be brought to PiLipse's customer service... let's see if they're not running a recall campaign... because with so many people, it’s definitely going to tarnish the brand image...

Hello, I also ran into this problem this very morning. I have a CD560 duo purchased in January 2011, and one of my handsets was turned off, with the keys constantly flashing. I swapped the batteries with the working handset, and nothing worked; it's dead.  I use these handsets for work, so I called the customer service of boulang** (where I bought them), and they told me they don't do exchanges, and that they have to send everything directly to Philips. It could take up to 10 days.... I can't be without phones at the store for 10 days, but they don't want to hear anything about it. I just called Philips France's customer service directly, and after taking all my details, they agreed to exchange it. However, as they no longer have this model (which isn't such a bad thing given the issues), they are giving me the equivalent, meaning the new model (but I can't remember the reference) since apparently the CD560 is old. They will send me an email where everything will be specified, and I don't need to return the old duo; so I get to keep the working handset for my job, and I’ll wait for the new ones.  Here is the Philips France customer service number: 0805 025 510. I hope I've helped you, and I'll keep you updated on the new phones I receive. A+

Good evening everyone, welcome aboard the Philips boat. Like you, my CD560 duo just gave up on me and naturally, I asked the internet, which directed me to this forum. So I bought it in February 2010 at FNAC and I don't know if the warranty is for 2 years or 1 year? I will call them. Symptoms = like you yoyo, nothing on the screen all of a sudden, the battery indicator is visible, then it disappears, nothing on the screen... in short, I'm in a bind as they say. +1 I have exactly the same problems... except that I didn't buy it, I won it :p... but apparently it's a recurring defect, worse than a hidden defect... In reality, this phone is not a COMPLIANT product! Therefore, the manufacturer should take action for exchanges!  Devices that are known or programmed to break down after one or two years are not COMPLIANT, unless they are trying to SCAM consumers!  Yes, it seems, based on the testimonials about this product on one site, that it is not compliant... those who marketed it are therefore at fault... We can file a complaint and hold Philips accountable, like any manufacturer... that doesn't care about us! :P

Bought in April 2010, my Philips CD560 landline phone is no longer under warranty. Yesterday it broke down, it keeps flashing permanently and gives no response, the batteries and the base are fine. Following all your messages, it seems to me that it is indeed a manufacturing defect. I therefore contacted Philips customer service who obviously said they would do nothing because it is out of warranty, that it is not repairable because it is too expensive, and that yes, it does happen that devices break down. They denied any design issue. I contacted consumer associations. I am considering filing a complaint against Philips. PS: I tested, as advised by one of you, pressing the star button for a long time, but nothing works.

Hi everyone, I have the same issue with the DUO kit from CD560 purchased at Boulanger, which occurred just before the warranty expiration date, but since I’m taking care of it now: too late. I just wrote to them to ask if they can do something for me. Hoping for a positive response… In case their reply is disappointing, there are many messages on different sites (including Facebook) warning to avoid this brand, which makes products that only last during the warranty period. As an electrician, boycotting all their products and advising clients to avoid this brand will also cost them a lot of customers/revenue. Best regards.

Hello,  I am looking for a (genuine) power adapter for the Philips CD560 phone base.  In my case, it has stopped working.  I am reaching out to those who have experienced the known issues with these phones (e.g. flickering screens, etc.) and who could give my phone a second life. Same problem with mine, I had forgotten to put it back on the base and the batteries were dead, I put new ones in while waiting to recharge the others and now the symptom has appeared where the buttons light up and turn off at regular intervals (3 seconds). That said, I did notice something strange when I put in the new batteries, a message briefly appeared in English, I think it said "INITIAL" or something like that just before the symptoms started. I think that means the management software has been wiped and the EEPROM has been reset... But since Philips doesn't clearly want to tell us what's going on, it's just a theory.

2016 the same problem! Bought a few years ago, hardly ever used (because it's drinkable), just bought just in case... If we've used it 20 times in 5 years, it's a miracle. Clearly planned obsolescence, so it's theft... When this type of phone should last at least 20 years without a problem... Philips, you've just lost another customer!
