Nintendo DS wifi problem to Bbox

Hello,

And now I’ll explain my problem from the start.

I’ve been trying to connect my Nintendo DS to my Bbox (Bouygues Telecom) for a while, but this operation is impossible. I’ve tried everything:
- Searching for an access point (error message I will note below)
- AOSS: Nothing happens even after 20 minutes, I have a Wi-Fi Easy button, but I don’t think it’s compatible with AOSS.
- Manual configuration: It does not find my BBOX

Error message “Searching for an access point”:
The security settings of the access point are not compatible with the Nintendo DS. For assistance visit nintendo.com.

I note that the Nintendo site does not give me any useful information to resolve my problem and offers no more help than the manual that comes with Wi-Fi compatible games.

My questions are therefore:

- How to change the settings of my BBOX so that it is compatible?
- Is it simply possible to connect my DS to the BBOX no matter what I do?

Note: My computer is connected to my bbox via Wi-Fi and there is no problem.

Thank you for your help,

Sincerely, M4rs

    Hi

In my opinion your wifi is not encrypted with WEP: You can change the encryption by going to Bouygues Telecom's customer area (on the website), in the configurations. By default, the bbox is in WPA which is a more secure encryption against hacking, but the DS does not support WPA. You know what you have to do.

      ATTENTION
If you are using the new Bbox (white box), it is impossible to change the WPA key to WEP, because it no longer exists on the new versions (considered obsolete security). I went to Bouygues' site to switch from WPA to WEP to configure my DS Lite, and it does not appear among the possible options; there are only WPA, WPA2 or WPA/WPA2, but no WEP key.
I have no solutions to offer you on this, I can only confirm that with a Bbox (2018) the CWF Nintendo configuration is unattainable.
As for the other WiFi boxes (Freebox, Livebox, older Bbox version…), I don’t know, however.
If someone has found solutions to this problem I would be forever grateful to them.

Peace and strength to you all.

YOU MUST PERSONALIZE THE BBOX SSID AND CHANGE ITS ENCRYPTION KEY

This means changing the network name: for example instead of bbox-48455 use Bbox-MAISON
And for the client, change the WPA/PSK encryption key to WEP and enter a new key different from the default one set.

These changes can be made in the BBOX interface at: gestionbbox.lan
don’t forget to switch to administrator mode before configuring the BBOX wifi to perform these changes
