Hello,
I'm lost, I don't understand anything, my questions are very simple:
- WHAT IS A TORRENT?
- HOW DOES IT WORK?
- WHAT SOFTWARE IS THERE?
- WHAT SITES ARE THERE?
- DOES JDOWNLOADER HAVE A RELATION TO TORRENTS?
In short, I want to know everything about the word "torrent" (a word I don't actually understand)
Thank you,
HB
Configuration: Mac OS X / Safari 533.16

Hi!
- WHAT IS A TORRENT?
A torrent is a file.
- HOW DOES IT WORK?
You download the torrent file corresponding to what you want to download.
Once you have it on your PC, you load it with a torrent software, and the download starts. But it's not a download like the others; it's actually sharing.
People who have already downloaded a part of this thing you are downloading automatically share with those who haven’t yet, and so on. So, there are 2 types of people:
- those who retrieve pieces of file
- those who share pieces of file
But generally, everyone does both. We share what we have already downloaded while retrieving what others have already downloaded (and are therefore sharing) but that we don't have yet!
And since you are nice, once you have retrieved the whole file, you don't close your software, and you share for those who need it ;).
- WHAT ARE THE SOFTWARES?
I use µtorrent, but there are others.
- WHAT ARE THE SITES?
I use Mininova, but there are others.
- DOES JDOWNLOADER HAVE ANY RELATION TO TORRENTS?
No, none!
See you.
