Devices and Printers won't open

Question

Hello,

I have a problem with the devices and printers page in the control panel, which I can't access.

When I click on it, the green loading bar (Windows 7) starts, but it never completes, and the page doesn't appear; the screen remains blank with only file, edit, view, ...

I tried restarting my PC, but nothing works.
I really don't know what to do; I really need to access it.

Hi everyone!
I had the same problem, so I’m sharing the method that worked for me:

Open the Windows command prompt and type "sfc /scannow"
don’t forget to create a restore point before this step (just in case...)
This command will start a scan that may take a few minutes.

Restart

unfortunately I have the same problem as you and I can't seem to solve it
personally it happened to me after installing bluesoleil on my pc and since then I can't even use bluetooth anymore
so if you have an answer....

same problem but I only realized it after installing service pack 1!
indeed the bluetooth drivers were the cause (generic bluetooth drivers). I solved the problem by disabling the bluetooth device in the device manager...
* opening "devices and printers" > perfect!
* re-enabling the device > perfect
* refreshing "devices and printers" > perfect!
* restarting and checking >> perfect!

me too, after installing Bluesoleil.
I tried to uninstall it but nothing works, then I tried to uninstall the Bluetooth key drivers, then reinstall them but still nothing.
The problem is still there. Unless I reinstall Bluesoleil. But I can no longer use it because it is expired.

Go to Device Manager and check if you see "Bluetooth radio"; if so, you should disable it unless you are using it.  Your Devices and Printers page will open without any issue!

After extensive research, I finally found the solution:

tweaking.com

their tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio_setup not only fixed the issue with the printer but also resolved other problems I had been dragging along for a while, like the thumbnails.
