Hello,
On Windows 7, I installed the Lexmark x2450 printer with the driver found on the manufacturer's website.
Everything went well, but when I try to print, I get an error message asking me to enable bidirectional communication.
Could you help me?
Thank you
Nicolas

Wow!!! I'm blown away by this super technical explanation.
Honestly, there's no need to reply to messages just to say something so basic.
Seriously, the issue stemmed from my initial setup where I connected the printer before the installation utility even asked me 1) to plug in the machine's power supply 2) to connect the machine to the PC via USB cable.
The bug is silly, but plugging in before starting the installation program can render printing inoperative.
If this happens to you, there are 2 possible solutions:
- either you need to restore your system to a date before the installation of your printer;
- or uninstall the printer and its installation program and clear the registry of all lines related to the printer.

"hyper technical explanation"
Certainly, the advice is not complicated, but oh so true.
I should have argued my case...
"Plugging in before starting the installation program can render printing inoperative."
The procedure described in the manual, it seems.
In hindsight, my advice was the right one... even if unsubstantiated.
Glad to have helped you, even if it wasn’t that pleasant.
