Hello everyone,
My PC is a Medion Akoya MD 96970, which I changed the OS (I switched from Vista to XP Pro p.3). Since then, the DVD drive refuses to burn and randomly shows either that it is a CD drive or a DVD drive. Medion's customer service thinks it’s a driver issue, but I can't find the driver whose reference is: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T40N.
Could you please help me?
Thank you for your reply
Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.8

Hello
There is no need for a specific driver for DVD drives.
What does the device manager say?
Which burning software are you using?
Is your version of Windows a pirated one?

Hello,
Go to Device Manager, click on + drives, right-click on the CD/DVD drive --> HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T40N and uninstall it. Restart and see what happens.

Sorry for the late reply but I've just gotten home from work.
The version of Windows was on my old PC, so it wasn't pirated. And regarding the device manager, I can see my drive. However, I realize that before uninstalling Vista for Win XP, the burning software (Nero) is no longer appearing....
Thank you for your help.
