ION turntable issue

Hello,

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.5.10

I have a small problem with my ION USB Turntable Profile LP. Until now, it has been working fine for a little over a week, and for the past day or two, when I try to put a vinyl on, knowing that the stop is fully automated, I place the arm above the vinyl and it returns as if I pressed STOP.
If anyone has had this problem or knows more about it than I do, please respond, that would be nice :D

P.S.: I just bought a best of The Doors vinyl and I can't listen to it. It's for a good cause ;)

Gentlemen,

The issue is not resolved, meanwhile she was walking again but now she's doing it to me again so it's a bit annoying, just when I come back from Canada with 13 vinyls in my pocket ....

Hello,

I have the same issue that happens randomly. I haven't solved it, but I noticed that when you bring the arm of the tonearm all the way to the center of the turntable, it decouples the "STOP" movement of the arm from the turntable's belt (it gets stuck for a short moment and then frees up). You can then listen to your record without too much trouble.
This doesn't solve the problem, but it does allow you to listen to your vinyls. As Yougi says, this equipment is of very, very poor quality. Personally, I regret this purchase a lot.

Enjoy listening.

Hello,
I just took apart the turntable because it's showing the same symptoms as before.
You just need to remove the metal piece that is held by a spring and a screw that serves as a slide. This piece is meant to return the arm to the stop position at the end of the vinyl.
I think it's just a lubrication issue with the slide, but I preferred to remove it so I wouldn't be bothered anymore. Now I no longer have a stop button and I have to manually return the arm to the initial position, so it's not too much of a hassle.

Hello guys, same problem as you! The worst part is that my girlfriend bought it for me, so: what a bummer!!!
My turntable is two months old, and when I took it back to my retailer, it started working (I didn’t look too great!). Meanwhile, that doesn’t solve the problem! It's still under warranty, if it’s a lubrication issue that’s one thing, but if it’s a manufacturing defect, we’re in deep trouble...

If someone has figured it out, it would be nice to let me know how they did it!
Thanks

Hi Lawiss66,

I have exactly the same problem as you.
Have you solved it since?
If so, I'd appreciate it if you could share the tip with me.

Thank you.

In my opinion, your turntable doesn't like the Doors :s

Hello, with a little grease (with cooking oil) I greased the metal parts that were rubbing against each other and put the plate back on with the belt, reattached the clip and it works!!! No more issues after that, cool!!

to me it's started again did you take apart your turntable from the top or from the bottom???

I only disassembled the plate on top by removing the axle clip. Be careful not to break your belt! Once the plate was removed, I oiled all the metal parts that I saw rubbing against each other. Then I put the plate back on with its belt and placed it back in its gear with a small pointed tool; then I put the clip back on the main axle. I don't understand why it doesn't work for you.
If your plate is still under warranty, take it back to your supplier!

Thank you for your response. I took it apart from the top like you did (I had taken it apart from the bottom yesterday). We have a bit of surface area on the metal rod, but less than from the top. I've reassembled everything, and surprise, it's working again, but when I use the stop button, it malfunctions afterward. In summary, for the circuit board, a good re-greasing is definitely needed, and it seems that the stop button is the unnecessary gadget ;) For now, it's working well, but I'm doing everything manually.

Hello, I have a little problem with my Ion turntable and I'm coming back to you to see if you're experiencing the same issue. The records tend to skip, especially in the last tracks of the center.
Is there an adjustment possible for the arm on this turntable??? And how do you do it?
Thank you in advance.

Hello Julien. I haven't encountered this problem yet, so I can't help you.
Maybe your diamond is getting too old to grip the groove properly.
I've heard that diamonds have a relatively short lifespan on this type of platinum, maybe you should change it; I recommend PriceMinister as a sales site. Make sure to check your equipment, it could be fixed.
For me, I haven't had any issues since the last drop of oil.
Best regards.
