Unknown debit card charge ESCOT

I asked myself the same question as you, but in the end, I found an explanation:

Escot makes a cumulative charge over a given period, rather than at each toll crossing.
On your statement, it is indicated (as an example)
CARD X XXXX 13/12 ESCOT 1312 1612 --> 46.20 EUR

This means: on the card indicated by the numbers, on December 13th, the company charged you 46.20 EUR, because you passed their toll several times between December 13th and December 16th. The 46.20 EUR actually corresponds to 3 round trips, at a rate of 7.20 EUR per trip (either the outbound or the return).

I found the origin of this ASCOTT expense. It's a toll exit without a ticket between Aix-en-Provence and Manosque.

...I was also surprised... the “how it works” messages led me to the tolls, and I noticed that some amounts charged corresponded to the total of different entries from the same day.

I had the same doubt as you, but I just noticed that they are indeed toll payments.

It is not possible, I live in the Midi Pyrénées region and I went to Nice on 12/17, returning on 01/03, yet the withdrawals are on 12/15 and 01/06.
Moreover, I had a ticket at every toll!
How can one know my card number if not through hacking?

In my specific case, coming from Aix towards Manosque / Gap, if I exit before the toll where you take the ticket, at the exit towards Meyrargue, I took a toll section... otherwise, I don't understand.
