Hello, I installed The Sims 3 on my PC and Bam, black screen. I tried all your fixes but it doesn't seem to work.

I don't understand anything anymore.

I had exactly the same issue. I cleaned my registry using Wise Registry Cleaner and ran an adware scan, and the problem is solved ;-)

Verdict: definitely a ventilation problem.
My new graphics card doesn't have a built-in fan compared to the old one, and that's great for winter but not for summer :p

So I got a small fan for €9 that cools the graphics card directly. Since then, everything's been fine.

Good luck to you all. Zeb.

Hello
I feel like my problem is a bit different. I have an HP Pavilion mx70 with 256MB DDR, Windows XP 2000
For over six months, the screen turns on, then off, then back on without affecting the tower, which works. It's like a cut; sometimes I have to give it a hit and boom, it turns back on. It makes light signals, shows light bands before turning off, but it turns back on when you touch it somewhere.
When I'm working on it and I move the table, it can also turn off.
I don't know where the problem comes from.
At first, I thought it was due to downloads on Emule, I removed it and cleaned up, but nothing.
Does anyone have an idea?
Thanks

WELL.... here I am again!!
After a few days without any problems, it suddenly started again.
The backup method of using the big fan aimed directly at the tower still works, but boy, the electricity bill!!

My customer service is on vacation until the end of August, but as soon as they return, I’ll bring in my tower, and I'll keep you updated...

nonsense: if your screen turns back on with flickers, it's the screen itself that is faulty... Have you tested it with another screen?

Hello
I'm bringing this topic up again because I also have the issue of signal loss since that day.
Have you found a solution (that works)?
Thank you for your replies

Hello!

Thanks Zeb

Indeed, it's the monitor; with another one, it works well. Apparently, it's the cable embedded behind.
I've also noticed that with another monitor, I no longer have those annoying pop-up windows from Explorer.
It's strange.
I think this type of monitor has a manufacturing defect; it's an HP Pavilion mx70.
Is it expensive to repair?

Hello again

My problem is solved, I bought a new Geforce card with a fan on it.
While removing the old one to install the new card, I realized that the fan on my ATI Radeon was blocked by dust.
So to avoid "stupid" costs like I did, take apart your graphics card, give it a little blow with an air blower and try using it again.

Hello
my problem that I've had since yesterday is that when I turn on the computer and my LCD screen, it goes to sleep, so I have to reboot multiple times and suddenly I don't know why it works. (it's not the DVI cable because when I unplug it, the screen tells me no signal, I tried with the VGA cord and it's the same) does anyone have an idea? Please

I blew out my computer, removed and reinserted the graphics card and nothing has changed.

Hi
it's still the same, I tried with another screen and it reacts the same way, stays on standby and reboots several times before starting. I put an old AGP 8x 5200 FX graphics card and it works perfectly, so I deduce that it's either my 6600 GT graphics card or my power supply. How can I find out?

Hi,

Have you connected the Molex connector from the power supply to the 6600GT card?

Hello everyone, here is the verdict

Note that a few days after my last message, there was nothing to do anymore, the PC wouldn't even start.
Not surprisingly, by changing the graphics card it works again. Hoping that with the replacement my new GPU doesn't pull the same stunt in 6 months...

The verdict: graphics card dead.

and was it a bad connection of the cable between the monitor and the graphics card? some oxidation? poorly connected cable?
so logically he says he no longer has a signal?
hmmm?

Hello,
My problem is that when I launch a game on my PC, the screen stays black and the game doesn't start. I thought it was a DirectX issue, so I installed DirectX 9.0, but it still doesn't work. Please, please help me....Thank you in advance.

Hello everyone

So there you go, I have a problem. After about 30 minutes, my computer screen goes black but stays on, I turn the screen off and then back on

Everything works normally again, but then it happens again 5 minutes later and then more frequently, it keeps happening.

I'm not very good with computers, I don't know where it comes from... If someone could help me? It might be a virus, I don't know

Hello,

For some time now, I’ve been experiencing the same problem as DESCHAMPS.

My screen displays nothing (black screen) but remains on (the power works, and the indicator LEDs confirm it).
The PC continues to function normally; I just need to turn the screen off/on or unplug/replug the VGA cable for the image to come back... but not for long. u_u

I can’t quite identify what triggers this issue, but I suspect it’s related to games (FM2008 ^^', Dofus, among others). However, the problem also occurs while I’m browsing the web...

Any ideas? ^^'

Before, I also had a Radeon 9600 Pro that would shut down when I was playing, and I found out why:
it actually comes from the graphics card overheating so much that it shuts down for safety, so the solution is either to buy a graphics card that runs cooler or to get a fan to cool it better.

My processor heats up to 66° and my motherboard to 40°
Whenever I play a game for about an hour or watch a video, suddenly the screen goes black but the tower stays on.
I have: Nidia 6800 GS/XT
AMD Athlon XP 3000+
1GB of RAM

So that's everything!
