NOKIA 5230 FLICKERING COVER

Good evening,

I just inserted my SIM card into my NOKIA 5230 and since then a notification envelope flashes in the top right of the screen indicating that the SIM card is full, besides my address book which should contain about 50 contacts I haven’t saved anything on it (no text messages, photos are on the micro SD)

What does this mean?

What should I do?

Thank you in advance.

There are two memories where SMS messages are stored:

    * The one on your phone, which is generally not saturated given the capacity of modern phones
    * The SIM card

Generally, it is the latter that becomes full and is responsible for the envelope that keeps blinking, so you need to purge this memory by removing saved messages from it.

To do this, go to Messages, then Options, click on SIM Messages, then delete the messages located there.

    Hello
In my opinion, if you read it again you’ll have the answer.

I reread myself... in vain... explain yourself better?

You yourself say that your SIM card is full because you have about fifty names, and in my opinion that’s what it’s coming from. If the SIM card is full, it should be indicated by this envelope that flashes, in my opinion.

Precisely, the SIM card says it's full, but there's nothing stored on it, that's what I don't understand! I tried deleting contacts from my address book but nothing helps! When I check the phone's memory status, I still have a lot of free space. It's a mystery lol

Your SIM card might be acting up. Try another phone if you can.

Yes I thought about it, except there’s a small downside: once the SIM card is inserted, it’s impossible to remove it!! lol

I have the same as you... I have no contacts and apparently, my SIM card is full.
But to remove the SIM card:
      - Remove the battery.
      - Open the cover of the SIM card slot.
      - With a small object like a "toothpick", push where the small gap is under the battery.

Actually, by tinkering with the phone, I managed to make the envelope disappear. If I remember correctly, in "Messages" there was a folder with a few saved texts; I deleted them and the envelope disappeared! Search carefully—if I found it, you’ll find it too ;)

Jonathan, thanks for the SIM card. I hadn’t noticed the little gap under the battery; it was a friend (smarter than me, lol) who found it.
