Hello,
I've been having a connection problem for two days that I can't seem to resolve.
I have a Dell Studio PC running Windows 7 (purchased in February). Everything was working perfectly until after a night in sleep mode, it became impossible to connect to any internet network (my NEUF modem or other available wireless hotspot networks).
In fact, in the network center, it appears that I am connected, but below, I get the message "no internet access."
In the "Status" dialog box of the selected network, it says: "IPv4 connectivity: no internet access." The same goes for IPv6.
I've restarted/unplugged/replugged my modem, I performed a system restore, and I also followed the instructions in this tutorial: http://www.tutoriaux-excalibur.com /forum-7/reseau-non-identifie-pas-d-acces-internet-pour-seven-t1030.html# ...
But nothing works, still no internet access.
I should note that I also disabled my antivirus and firewall.
Right now I'm using an old PC (with a cracked screen ^^:p) running XP which, by the way, connects without a problem.
Could a kind soul help me identify the source of the problem and help me resolve this mess???
Thanks!

Thank you brupala, but I found my problem! Actually, I set a fixed IP on the local network to create a mini LAN, and I didn't switch it back to automatic! In all the posts, everyone was talking about fixed IPs, and I only looked at the Wi-Fi card configuration, not the local network card! I just checked, and that was the issue! Thanks a lot for responding so quickly anyway!
EDIT: To restore the default network settings, press the Windows key+R simultaneously, then type cmd and validate with Ctrl+Shift+Enter, then enter the following commands:

ipconfig /renew
apparently in the DHCP configuration of the box I had the static address declared, I removed it and it seems to work.
Including for the low ID of eMule.
Thanks, I hadn't thought of that, especially since it had been working like that for months??
Thanks, have a good evening

Hi,
can you run an ipconfig/all and paste the result
by either typing it manually or copying it into a text file and then transferring it via USB stick to the other PC.
and ... There you go!

Sorry?
So when you copy the result of a command, you have to copy everything, or if you choose parts, be careful not to remove the only interesting ones.
Also, try not to write all over an old discussion.

Bugru, I bless you! I spent my day testing my network card, my cables, my switch, my router, network settings, firewall, etc... and after extensive searching on forums, I stumbled upon your tiny post... I can't believe we are among the few to encounter this problem... damn McAfee!
If you send me your photo, I will have a statue of you placed in my garden! :)
Thanks again!

try to see the difference in ipconfig/all when you are on automatic address and it works and when you are on a fixed address.
if the gateway, mask, and dns settings are the same, there is no reason it shouldn't work with this ip address... unless 192.168.1.2 is being used by another machine...
in that case, you should have a duplicate ip address when you configure it to that value.

Hello everyone,
I have roughly the same problem.
I have a laptop connected to an Orange Livebox via Wi-Fi.
So far, no issues except for a few days now, I can connect to the box but the following message appears: "no internet access" and I cannot open a page (logically you might say...)
Another laptop is connected to the same box with no apparent connection issues, as well as a PC connected via Ethernet to this box, which is also working fine.
My PC is an ACER ASPIRE 5738ZG (purchased in January) and runs with Windows 7-64bit (originally).
I would like to know if someone could provide me with a solution. And please, with step-by-step instructions since I am not very good at computers and I don’t quite understand the previous posts.
I ran ipconfig/all:

Hello! I don't really have the same problem, but I think this is the most appropriate topic...
So here it is: I live with my parents, and for the past few months, we've been using a Netgear wifi router for ADSL internet access. The family computer - a Windows 7 64-bit - is connected to the router via cable, and my personal laptop - Vista - is connected to the wifi network.
Everything was working perfectly until we had to unplug the family computer for painting. At the end of the day, I plugged it back in, and we could still access the internet afterward. But after unplugging it a second time for the second coat, there was a problem when I plugged it back in.
All the lights on the router are green, I can access the internet via wifi from my personal laptop, but it's impossible to access a page or connect to MSN from their computer. In short, there's no internet activity, even though the indicator at the bottom right of the desktop says Internet Access! I don't understand.
I have rather basic computer knowledge, so I quickly get lost. Logically, the problem might stem from the multiple unplugging and replugging, and I might have made a mistake... But I don't think so. To be sure, I even reconnected everything from scratch, and of course, still nothing.
So? Where could this problem be coming from? I'm getting desperate, please help me; my dad really needs his email!
Please ask me if I wasn't clear enough or if you need more information!
Thank you :)

Hello everyone,
I have a little problem similar to that of lulukawa, I can no longer connect to a Livebox (neither to the one in my apartment nor to my parents') but I can connect to an SFR HotSpot without any problem!!

Uh...
enable ipv4, you don’t have ipv4, just v6, that won’t work with Orange.
And also read the response below:

After using AdwCleaner, I no longer have an internet connection via WiFi or WLAN.
This problem has happened to me before and I was able to resolve it, but I no longer remember how.
This problem has happened to me before and I was able to resolve it, but I no longer remember how.
Hi and thanks for the reply. I'm sorry for taking so long to respond, but 1° it turns out that my internet connection has miraculously been restored, but 2° I now have new problems on this PC...
I'll explain:
1st symptom: no internet connection as mentioned earlier. (now resolved without me knowing why)
2nd: problem with explorer.exe. I regularly have a bug when starting Windows: the sound does not work. Consequently, all programs using sound become unresponsive. I have to restart and then a message appears saying that a program is running (explorer.exe - closing session sound) and I have to force a restart. Sometimes it takes me 5 to 6 restarts for everything to work normally.
3rd symptom: MSN crashes on opening. It connects but then freezes and I have to close the program. For this specific case, I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling (even a previous version)... nothing works. I wanted to run a scan with MSN Virus Remover and Clean Virus MSN, but both had an unexpected stop before finishing the scan, which makes me believe that my MSN must be badly infected. I specify that a scan with Avast and another with Malwarebytes detected no infected files.
I doubt that all these incidents are related, but they appeared at the same time.
Since all of this seems quite complicated, I will first contact Dell's customer service (at least to help with this sound problem). Maybe they can provide information about the rest! Anyway, thanks for reading, and I'm open to any advice!

I have this problem too.
My computer running Windows 7 shows connected but no internet access.
I turned off the modem twice with no result.
I restarted the computer twice with no result.
I have another computer that connects without any issue.
Do you have a solution? Thanks.

owomaxwell,
you should ask your question in a new discussion instead of hogging a historical monument,
otherwise your connection is fine with the router, even in Spanish.
changing the language of Windows is a fairly easy operation.
