Good evening everyone
There is something I don't really understand in the movie "The Descent: Part 2".
Why at the end of the film does the guy in the cap knock out the sheriff's deputy to give her to the creatures? What connection does he have with them?
Thank you for your responses

Hello,
in my opinion, the old man with the cap has been aware of the existence of these "creatures" from the very beginning, especially since at the start of the expedition he says that his grandfather didn’t return from searching for new tunnels. Furthermore, he glances at the female sheriff when he lowers the elevator...
In short, he must have struck a deal with the beasts; he feeds them and in exchange they let him hunt in the woods. He buys his peace and quiet; plus, it’s also a way for the beasts to stay in their cave...
This has already been seen in "Humans" with Lorant Deutsch and other movies of the same kind featuring weird creatures...
I was very surprised by the ending, by the way...
"It's because the speed of light is greater than that of sound,
that so many people appear bright before looking stupid!"

But then in that case, why didn't he kill Sarah and throw her in the cave at the beginning of the film? This would have prevented him from taking risks by almost being discovered in the cave and by the rescuers with the monsters.
Like Beth in the first part.
Why does she approach Juno without announcing herself... reflexively getting an axe blow to the neck... All that just to tell Sarah that she shouldn't trust Juno, when it was an accident.
That stupid Beth really annoyed me.
As for the creatures, they are definitely human, blood type A and all, plus with a lot of inbreeding and evolution/development in a fantasy world, these creatures could be possible.
I don't think there's a pact between him and the monsters, plus he could have put her back in there so that no one knows and attempts an exploration like some urbex... or that there are other rescues and history repeats itself, and seriously, in the movie the only ones who were sure to survive were June and Sarah, among the others who scream and make mistakes, the walkie-talkie should have been thrown away and not kept, that stupid one with his gun and the very clumsy police officer.
