Excel completely frozen error message

Hello everyone,

I have a big problem. I started a macro in Excel that retrieves data from another Excel workbook. However, the error message "Microsoft Office Excel is waiting for another application's OLE action to finish" keeps appearing.

When I click OK, the message disappears and then reappears right after. I can’t close Excel or see what’s going on with the macro.

Also, my file is on a company server, which means that even if I log off, the file remains open. I'm stuck!! Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you very much

Solution 1: Close Excel; go to the explorer; delete the stubborn file.

Solution 2: Press ctrl+alt+delete to open the task manager; select the stubborn file; click on End Task.

... but there are others ...

Glad to see that even after 6 years this advice is still useful...
Best regards.

It's been almost 15 years since you provided a solution to solve an OLE issue on Word, and it helped today. Thank you so much. Without your help, I would have been stuck all evening. A big, big thank you.
