Horizontal red lines on screen

Hello everyone, I'm posting today because my screen (Samsung SyncMaster 2232BW, native resolution 1680/1050 60Hz) has been giving me trouble for over a week.
In fact, dark moments (black startup Windows pages and in games) have horizontal red lines appearing. They are not fixed; it looks like they are flickering and "jumping" from one line to another. On the forums I've visited these past few days, everyone was only talking about fixed lines, which is not my case.
At first, I thought it was a graphics card problem, and I updated my drivers, etc., but that didn’t change anything. I connected another screen to my PC, and no lines appeared. I also noticed that when my screen is disconnected but powered on, these lines are still there, so I don't think it's coming from my PC anymore?
Do these lines indicate that my screen is going to fail soon, or is it possible to get rid of them?

I encountered the same issue with fine horizontal red lines on my TV ( CRT ). They were visible when the screen was black or dark. I almost threw my TV in the trash.
But before that, I decided to give it a shot: I unplugged and then replugged all the connectors connecting the cathode ray tube to the electronic boards.
It worked! Since then, my TV works like new. Perfect image! The cause seemed to be a bad connection.
