vertical red line split screen Closed

Question

A very bright red line has appeared by itself! It splits the screen vertically, towards the right side of the screen. It's a NEC LCD 1701. The resolution is correct.
Does anyone have an idea? It's very unpleasant, especially when, like me, you spend hours a day working in front of the screen.

I'm not a specialist in screens and LCDs, far from it, so take it as it is... but for me, it's purely hardware.
Not software, viruses, or whatever...
By the way, start in safe mode... (F8 at boot before Windows) ... if your stripes remain, it's not a driver that’s failing...

but this is definitely a hardware issue... :-(

--My sincere apologies for this late response: I didn’t know there was a closing procedure. On January 14th, I would have told Maddog: I understand, I will change the screen as soon as I have some money. But a few days ago, the line disappeared. No idea what happened, but I’m not going to complain. Thank you again.

I just received my 19-inch LCD screen, it's new (bought from Cdsicount) and right from the first use, there are two vertical lines (red and green) that split the screen in half. So I don't know whether I should return it or what to do.

I have exactly the same problem, it's a hardware issue.
Don't look for complications

It's (for me):

Either the screen that has taken a hit (in general)
Or the cable (on the laptop) that is damaged from repeatedly opening and closing.
Or the casing of the screen that is warped and distorting the panel (hit or manufacturing defect).

I moved my computer from the bedroom to the office, and when I restarted the computer, red lines appeared on the left side of the screen during startup, and there is a filter on my desktop that covers half of the screen. I reconfigured my graphics card but nothing worked. Please help me.

Just disable the MultiScreen application that comes with large screens. (icon in the taskbar)

Hello,

I had this issue (just a vertical red line less than 1 mm wide).

I solved it by tapping all around the edge of the screen: depending on where you tap, it disappears.

So after finding the spot, I slid a small piece of paper towel (no bigger than a thumb nail, for example) between the panel and the plastic edge, and since then, no more problems...

Hello, the same problem was solved with a slight touch at the edge of the screen, you just have to find the right spot and it disappears, as JML34 says.
