Hello,
As the topic title indicates, I'm having problems in the game "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion". These are "minor" issues, and they only concern the "thief" class. As a thief, I am part of the Thieves Guild, and to unlock missions, I need to sell our stolen items to fences, but to steal items from houses, there must be no NPCs in that house and our inventory must be nearly empty to take the most items.
1°) I would like to know how to check if there are NPCs in the houses
2°) and if with the mod that adds a bank, we can store items.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
You can steal objects in places even if there are people inside. Use stealth mode (I think it's the default ctrl key), walk slowly, use light outfits to sneak around (there are outfits or light armors with stealth bonuses, for example). Ideally, you should also drink an invisibility potion (or use an equivalent scroll).
You can store your items in houses that you have previously purchased in a city (there's one on the docks in the Imperial City). These houses are expensive, so I recommend fighting in the arena of the Imperial City to earn money or doing other side quests.

No, it's not a bug. Indeed, you become visible again when you take an action (talking, opening, fighting...). I recommend having several in stock.
If you want to know whether you have been spotted or not when you commit an "offense" in the game (theft...), you can check your character's statistics sheet. If there's no "bounty on your head," it means you successfully carried out your theft without being detected.

1 You can know in advance if they are there or not by following and observing them, for example in the Imperial City in the market district, you wait at night for all the vendors to go to the nearby inn for not too long. Personally, I prefer to use a spell to turn invisible to burglarize a house.
2 No need, you buy a house and you drop your stolen goods there. Have a good day.

Some items (such as the gray fox mask, which should be used with caution!!! but there are others) or life detection potions allow you to see through walls the presence of other characters.
thanks in advance
