Excel VBA component not installed correctly

Hello,
for some time now I’ve been having issues with my Office 2003 installations on different PCs.
Indeed, after installing the office suite, at the first launch of Excel, the famous message titled: "Microsoft Visual Basic: The component is not installed correctly" appears. And this with two choices: OK or Help
The Help is not useful to me, as is often the case. So I click OK, to see the same message appear about a good ten times; to finally end up with a nice Error 336 before I can access the software.

My diagnostics so far:

- Opening Excel from an existing file or not, the problem is the same.
- Reinstalling Office idem (with cleaning of temporary files and registry)
- Installing the SP2 of Office still the same.

- The error 336 is apparently related to an ActiveX, but no info on how to fix it.

- Until now on my other PCs I have always managed by performing a system restore to a date when Excel was working fine. But here, on this PC, it’s at the first execution of Office, never used at a previous date...

It remains that my system is Ghost image of another install on the same model of PC, and I wonder if this might be related...

Thanks in advance for your help.

NB: remarks like: use OpenOffice are to be ignored!

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.3

    Hello,

Really just in case, it seems we have already discussed similar problems. It was due to the Euro conversion add-in macro.

If that’s it (once Excel is finally launched!), go to Tools/Add-Ins and uncheck “Euro Tool.”

Also, if other add-ins are checked, it might be useful to uncheck them too to possibly find the culprit.

    And then try restarting...

    Otherwise, no other ideas...

    Cheers,
