Hello, here’s a recent post from a viewer-internet user-client at Samsung (it’s somewhat related to LG) that reassures and especially contradicts the tendency of customer services to change the power supply board (which is indeed quite expensive) at all costs: pierrot712010 - Dec 31, 2011 at 05:26 Hello everyone, and thanks to this site and all the people who helped me repair my Samsung TV . . .
I want to share with you a LITTLE TIP THAT I DISCOVERED and that can help you! !
First, I started by changing all the capacitors on the power supply board, as mentioned earlier in the forums (a little tip, use 25 V ones, no issues, they’re better and more common) But darn, the relay keeps clicking! !
So after seeing on the forum THE ISSUE WITH THE CI with 8 pins on the electronic board, the second one, where all the external connectors are, but on the other side of the connectors on the TV side board, you have to dismantle it, the CI is near the word EEPROM written on the board . . .
I ordered it. Then I mounted it (easy for me, soldering is my job) and ! ! ! Darn, still the clicking, what a bummer! ! !
Then I remembered A MANIPULATION I had seen, I don’t remember where, but it said to hold down the power button for 2 minutes, with the TV plugged in, and that it would RESET . . .
So I tried, and LO AND BEHOLD, a long beep and the TV was back to normal ! !
So I think you can try this manipulation BEFORE changing the CI, as I didn’t try the manipulation after changing the capacitors ! ! ! So give it a shot, it might work ??
I hope my tip will help you?? Happy fixing, thanks to all . .
