How to burn my files to a CD-R? Solved/Closed

Hello.

Thank you for telling me how to burn my files to a CD-R. Also, please specify how much 1 KB and 1 GB are in MB, as I need to understand these units well to know how many files I can burn on a 700 MB CD.
I'm not very good with computers, so please explain the procedure step by step and simply.

1) You can do it using the built-in burning service in Windows. You select your files and send them to ------> CD-RW drive (or DVD-RW). You will get a tooltip saying you have files waiting to be burned. You click on it and choose to burn the files to the CD-ROM. You follow the procedure and finalize the process.

2) Alternatively, you can use Nero with the option that allows you to burn files as data or create a slideshow --

I suggest the first option as it is simpler.

1 GB = 1000 MB 1 MB = 1000 KB 1 MB = 1000 bits 1 byte = 8 bits your disk must be 700 MB and not 700 GB -- Please Insert COIN!

This corresponds to the maximum burning speed that the CD can accept.

But in reality, it doesn't work that well.

I've already seen x52 certified CDs that only worked well at x8...

For your information, for CDs:

x1 = 150 kilobytes per second.
x2 = 150x2 = 300 kilobytes per second,
etc.

The speed of CD readers/writers is measured in kilobytes per second.

For example, a x52 CD reader will be able to read:
52 x 150,000 = 7,800,000 bytes in one second = 7.8 MB in one second.

It depends on how you want to burn them. If you want to do it simply, use:
- the burn files function (or send to CD-RW/DVD-RW)
- or you can make a mini video with Movie Maker (with your photos and even a background sound) and burn it all with Nero (using the create a video CD function)
