Files waiting to be burned, where are they?

Hello,

I'm really bad at burning documents and photos. I want to transfer photos to DVD-RW from my local drive. I format my DVD and then I copy photos to transfer them. But now, I have 2 messages from Windows:

1. I just put a DVD-RW in the drive, and a message from Windows says this: Files waiting to be burned (I don't even know where they are)

2. Or, when I copy photos to transfer to the DVD, Windows tells me it is formatting the DVD in the background, but that I can continue to copy or transfer to the DVD.

I don't know where to turn with this burning issue. I just want to transfer my photos to the DVD without having to burn them. Can someone help me? Thank you!

I am on Windows 10 version 1703, but I previously had Windows 7. I do cut or copy and then paste to transfer to the DVD, but I often get the message from Windows saying that Windows is formatting the background and that I can continue to work with the DVD-RW, even though I have already formatted the DVD.

But how do I find files waiting to be burned, and where are they? Because I don't see anything on the DVD. I’m not asked how to use it either as a USB flash drive or as a DVD. Thank you!

If you go into your file explorer.

In This PC, your DVD drive will appear.
Right-click on your CD/DVD drive.
Choose burn to disc.
And your files should appear

There may also be an issue if Windows has been erasing your DVD for too long, that's not normal.
Stop the process and start again, or try with another DVD.
