The cockroach creates a circuit in the PC's power supply.

Hello,
is it true that cockroaches can get into the power supply of a desktop computer? If so, how can we protect our computers against the "cockroach virus" that enters the power supply? Any tips, thanks? Don't think that I have cockroaches at home -_- I'm just studying this phenomenon, thank you.

    Well! There is certainly some truth to that. After all, the word "bug" comes from the English "bug" which means 'insect':

    You're pushing me to tell you the truth, here's the story:
    Once at night I heard a noise in the computer case (bang!) The next day, I opened the computer case, found nothing on the motherboard, then I disassembled the power supply and found a cockroach on the motherboard!
    A dead cockroach that left its black mark, and when I changed the power supply box, the PC worked.
    An IT technician told me that if a cockroach gets into the power supply box, it can create a circuit, so how can we protect our power supplies from cockroaches? It's normal to have cockroaches everywhere!

    Kaspersky antivirus or Avast or any antivirus cannot detect a cockroach inside the central unit, and that's the reason why I asked this question, because I have had 7 power supplies explode because of cockroaches. I'm bored of buying a new power supply especially every time I hear a (boom!) from the central unit. I just change the power supply.

    I always buy power supplies like this one, full of holes that allow cockroaches to nest inside because it gets hot. I think I'm going to do this:

    to prevent cockroaches from coming out of the power supply. If there are any other solutions, that would be nice.

    Boric acid or other insecticides... or traps with glue... or baits that poison them when they return to the nest...

    The only trick I've found against those creatures that give me chills is that as soon as you see one, don't crush it but capture it and BURN it. What you definitely shouldn't do is use sticky traps because, okay, they kill them but they also attract them. So if you want to get rid of them, as soon as you catch one, burn it. Crushing them makes the eggs hatch, then you throw it in the trash, but the eggs are still there. Use cockroach spray along your tower, or even on top of it.

      If in doubt, empty the trash that should be on your desk and regularly run CCleaner: it's a completely eco-friendly product.
