Hello
My problem: when I double-click an icon, it shows me the properties of that icon (Windows XP). Is there a solution? Thank you in advance
Best regards

Hello,
Actually, there are 3 keyboard modes:
the one where sa.niceman is (I don’t know what it’s for! ?), the azerty mode, and qwerty
press alt+shift to navigate between the three modes
there you go

Hi
you can try this:
Control Panel --> Printers and Other Devices --> Mouse
there, you can configure your mouse buttons
;-)

Hi Maurice, well I agree with you that some are still not intercepted, due to not being recorded yet, etc...
but the main ones are!
so now we need to know if it’s not a parameter of the mouse software that’s creating all this mess!
try uninstalling the mouse software, restart your computer, and see if it still gives you this problem with the traditional mouse functions!

Indeed, this evening, for the first time in my life, it happened to me, and when I used Google, I ended up here. And I confirm, a quick right and left click makes it return to normal.
Clarification: I am up to date and in the middle.
I think it's a Windows bug to change ...

Hello everyone
I also recently had this problem after inserting my USB key that was at a friend's place, and at that moment the antivirus was triggered and it confirmed that it contained a virus and neutralized it, but the problem persists. When I double-click on an icon, it opens the properties window, and worse, when I press keys on the keyboard, it directly goes to shortcuts (like accessibility options), and I can't even enter a web address
but all this disappears when I log off and back on!!!
I think it's some kind of virus or malware; there are many that do this kind of thing just for their amusement
so if anyone knows a solution, please contact me by email lazharbt@yahoo.fr
I await your help
thank you.

I don’t know where this problem came from, it scared me, I felt so stupid with my mouse showing me the properties of my software on my PC... It's so cool!
But in any case, cheers to the guy and his method of alternating left and right clicks just once! It works, I'm losing my mind! You learn something new every day in IT... However, there’s no way to revert it back to properties... I would really like to find a way to undo this stupid problem... It's so ridiculous to be able to reverse the effects of this "pseudo-bug"... Just like ALT+SHIFT switches a keyboard from Azerty to Qwerty... If you don't know, you look like an idiot!

It's not a virus problem but a bad shortcut.
I have the same issue when my cat walks on the keyboard -_-
I just need to find the shortcut :/

Hi, I would say no to viruses and worms!
Since:
any virus or worm is intercepted by antivirus software!
Unless you don't have one yet!!! (Then it's dangerous)
And besides, hackers are not going to start programming just to mess up a mouse on a useless PC!
So now about your problem!
Could you tell us what model of mouse you are using?
IntelliMouse Explorer, or what model?
Three buttons, etc....
Have you installed any specific software for your mouse?
Have you changed the default settings of your mouse?

Hi, Thank you for your help.
Yes, the specific mouse software has been installed; it's a button + scroll wheel mouse from Compaq that came with the computer.
I wondered about a virus or worm because, out of carelessness, I didn't have any. Now I've installed it, but the scan didn't find anything.
The mouse settings have never been changed...
Thank you for everything.
