[ACCESS] OLE server issue

Hello,
(PC, XP).
I created a database in Access. Everything was fine, but for some time now, every time I click on a macro, I get the following message: "The expression on Click event parameter of the property is causing an error. A problem occurred during communication between Microsoft Office Access and the OLE server or ActiveX control." I’m not sure what to do anymore. I would be grateful if someone could help me.

I have an Access database in which images are stored that I cannot view; if I double-click on a cell in the field (OLE object), I get the following message: "Close the OLE server and then restart it outside of Microsoft Office Access. Then repeat the initial operation from Microsoft Office Access."
I created another table in a different database with an OLE Object field and manually stored a BMP image, and when I double-click on the field, the image displays.
But for the first database, it doesn't work.

having had the same problem inserting an image in a form, I searched on Google and here is a manipulation that worked for me:

I have found the source of this bug. After going through the Windows
Debugger and logging all Access API calls, I determined that for some
reason, ole32.dll searches for a registry key called HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility
\{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}. If this key does not exist,
then things continue normally and eventually the file will be
attached. If this key does exist, however, Access will give the error
message. Deleting that key solves the problem, and attachments can be
made.

Upon further research, it appears that Spybot: Search and Destroy
(among other programs) puts this key in there. I am curious as to why
Office 2007 uses this key when previous versions of Office did not. In
any case, if anybody from Microsoft is monitoring these forums, this may
be something to add to your Knowledgebase, as I'm not the only person
who has had this problem.

I had a similar problem with Access 2003. When I inserted a bitmap image on my machine, everything worked fine, but on another computer, there was an error message related to the OLE server.

I solved the problem by installing Paint on the second computer (I think Access 2003 handles images using Paint).

I have the same problem. Every time I try to enter a data (e.g., Image), it tells me that the OLE server is not registered. Please reinstall it. I don't know what to do anymore. If someone could help me, I would be infinitely grateful.

I had a similar problem where ACCESS told me that the OLE server was poorly registered and needed to be reinstalled.

I went into the folder options and unchecked "Hide file extensions".

I entered my link to copy my query by selecting the file to open but this time with the extension marked and it worked.

In Access, if the message is "You have tried to use a form, report, or datasheet that contains an OLE object, but the OLE server (the application used to create the object) may not be registered correctly. Reinstall the OLE server to register it correctly.", then there is at least one case where the problem is neither with Access nor the OLE server, but comes from the target software, namely Excel or Word. In the specific case of Excel, to resolve the issue you need to uncheck the box [Excel Options; Advanced Options; General; "Ignore other applications that use dynamic data exchange"] and/or use FixIt from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/211494/en.
Tested and validated on Office 2007 / W7.
