Hello everyone.

I have a remote control here that says its model is OVU400103/00
However, there is no trace of this model on the internet.
It is an HP remote control that my computer detects as a Philips remote (I assume the hardware was made by Philips for HP)

So, I would like to know if any of you know this remote control that was sold with an HP Pavilion Media Center from 2006 (which I no longer have and do not have the references for.)

Also, I am adding the results of an lsusb:

Yes, he is chatty, but not when it comes to figuring out how to configure it under Linux; you type "OVU400103/00 lirc" or "OVU400103/00 ubuntu" and he is as mute as a carp...

Yes: indeed, I'm not posing the problem: :p
The problem is that none of my programs for which I have enabled the lirc plugin are responding...

Knowing that irw responds, it may be necessary to edit a file to associate keys with commands... I don't know which file to edit. (I do admit I'm a bit clueless when it comes to searching on Google.)

Is your file /etc/lircd.conf configured?

This should help you (for inspiration obviously):

Thank you very much. Sorry, I couldn't wait and I found my happiness thanks to this:

http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/lircrc#avec_mythbuntu-lirc-generator

Then, I was inspired by the syntax of the file for other programs.

Next step: control the Compiz cube with the remote control.

It works perfectly.

Well there you go!

Indeed, your link rings a bell... I also came across it during my little research.

All that was left to do was....

:-)
